A children's book with a lesson about life
The book by Kristin Armstrong is geared for elementary school aged children.It speaks in clear and simple language about the onset of a serious disease to an athlete of great renown.Her lessons of dealing with adversity and overcoming it and then doing something positive to help others are important for young children and open the door for open, positive discussions with the child.

A great book about basketball forwards and centers
This is one of few books that taught me to read. I love sportsso I read this book over and over and eventually became a goodreader. Another sports book that taught me to read was Soccer Sam. Iloved reading about Hakeem Olajuwon living in Nigeria, Charles Barkley's rough childhood, Shaq's shatterering the backboard, and about David Robinson going to the Naval Academy for college. A Page Turning Adventure!
What if you were an orphan going from place to place and having no place to call home, because know one wanted you. Well that's how Anne felt in Elizabeth Montgomery's classic, Anne of Green Gables . Here is what happened:
Anne of Green Gables is a great book!
I liked Anne of Green Gables! It was fun to read and had lots of good writing in it. Sometimes the things Anne said were hard to understand but I finally figured it out. On the really boring pages I just kind of skim read. I think it's a good book though even if it is boring in some places...

Anne of Green Gables is about a mischivous and imaginative girl named Anne who was adopted by the old Cuthberts in Canada. It is set in the 1800's at the land called Green Gables. This exciting story is about all the perils Anne has to go through while growing up. She thinks she is ugly and because of that she thinks she will be lonely, but she gains the freindship of a girl named Diana. Anne may end up living almost the life she's always dreamed of. Explains that Tiger is talented but that he earns his rewards
Written for children in grades 2-3, this is an excellent book about success and how hard it is to be successful. Despite all his talent, Tiger practices hard, often hitting as many as 1000 balls in a day. He also changed his diet, eating more healthy foods rather than those filled with fat. This is one of the most important lessons that children can earn. When they see a baseball player hit a home run, a basketball player make a shot or a golfer hit that great shot, children need to know that the player has done that thousands of times in practice.
