Great Guide
It hardly has to be said about Nintendo Power.They do produce some rather fantastic guides.It's no surprise that with the release of the next Pokemon games, they'd have a guide ready to go.It's a fantastic guide, that spends quite a bit of time trying to get people used to the new style of gameplay Pokemon has gone.

Ignore all other reviews!
I beleive that the other reviews were written by furious begginer artists whom had tried a few times and were uspset with their results.It takes time to learn how to draw and drawing simple shapes such s circles is not as easy as it is made out to be! I don't think this book could be made any simpler and is perfect for the begginer.

When I tried to draw Lugu I traced it better than I drew it fowolling the steps.For people who think other people didn't try hard enough well I tried for 5 hours and still my tracing came out better.Finaly I gave up.It was to hard. If you like to trace pokemon this is a great book.

The best handbook in the world!!
It has all the pokemon you need and know about. My favorite parts are the pokemon you see in the book. If you want to buy it, just buy it. You won't regret it.-- from my 8year-old son.

A very helpful book, great for anyone playing the games!
This is a great book to use for anyone who knows all the pokemon or anyone like me who does not. I was looking for some to go along with my gameboy advance pokemon games and this book worked perfect! It tells when all the pokemon evolve, are they special moves they learn and HM and TM's they can use during the game. Not a complete guide
This guide has the basic walkthrough up to the Elite Four. But as other reviewers have noted, the book is rife with small errors and stops abruptly when detailing the end of the game. The largest omission is the exclusion of -any- mention of how to recieve the National Pokedex or how to travel to Islands 4, 5, 6, and 7. This is not a small extra area of the game, it is several more hours of gameplay and isn't even mentioned. Pokemon completists will be dissapointed with Prima's guide.

A Great Guide
This guide is great, because I would not have been able to complete the game without it.This guide shows all of the directions and where the Pokemon are located.It also covers the battle frontier.

Great info guide!
this is a great guide if you are stuck or you like repeating games.it shows you all the pokemon in the game and it tells you all the moves they will learn.at the back of the book it tells you all the moves in the game and it tells you what they do.it tells you were the hidden items are like stones, pokeballs and potions.it has a walkthrough that tells you hints.

too disapointing
This is a terrible book. If you are into getting only the 1st 200 pokemon in the "hoen" region, this book is okay. But, if you are like me, and you want to get all 386, find another book. The description above says that you can get every pokemon in the game, yet it only lists the 200 in the "hoen" region, while still making refrences to jirachi and deoxys, saying basically that you cant get them in America. So, don't waste your money on this useless piece of garbage and go buy a gameshark. I sat around for 8 days, waiting for it to show up, only to be dissapointed beyond belief at its poor maps, unhelpfull pokedex and very vague item and berry information. SO, dont waste your money on this guide, or the prima guide, just buy a cheating system because I think you would be alot more satisfied and get your moneys worth. ... Read more

A Pokemon Fan's Dream Come True
My daughter love the whole Pokemon genre, and especially enjoys the GameBoy Pokemon games.She has poured through this book many times already and just loved it.I highly recommend it.

This book is good for a quick walkthrough reference. It's simple to use and does its job well. If you need help with Ruby or Sapphire, I'd recommend picking this up!

Too much Conversation Text & Less photos

When a journalist attempts to be a historian...
This has been the third book on history of video games I have read. This time, the author or, more probably, the editor went far calling this the "ultimate" history of such an underestimated field of culture as videogames are. If I buy a book allegedly "Ultimate" in anything, I definitely have to have high expectations. And this is what I expected.
The Best "History" Book Ever
Since before videogames to the release of the X-box, the Ulitimate History of videogames tells it all. A book fit for a classroom however it doesn't read like a boring textbook. There are hundrededs of fun facts and interesting stories about the people and the companies involved in the making of a multibillion dollar industry. The book is also filled with interesting quotes from the author's interviews with the people he talks about. If you've ever wanted to know how it happened or just wanted to relive it, the Ulitimate history of Videogames is for you. Well worth the price. The first time i started reading it, i didn't want to put it down. An exellent book, if you are a fan of videogames, interested in pop culture, or just a history buff this book is for you.

Lies, No Guide Or Strategy Guide At All
The book don't help you at all beating the game is only a whole bunch of index card information, that only tells you, this pokemon has this power or you can do this with him, no a guide that show you the map of the game and any cheat codes.What a waste of money. I found Primagames Guide for Pokemon XD to be the Excellent choice the other one I resell it back.

Helps Dad keep up
My son seems to have a limitless memory for everything Pokemon, but my husband can't keep up with him.My son loves it when his dad plays video games with him, but dad gets a little overwhelmed. :)This guide helped Dad play the game despite his lack of Pokemon knowledge.

These are brilliantly done
Pokemon Adventures is probably the best vision of the concept that's sponsored by Nintendo.For the record, I recommend buying these in the graphic novel format. A little bit different, but still excellent!
The Pokemon Adventures series is a little bit different than the original, but still is excellent. A new character (Instead of Ash) is in the book. The storyline is very good and would definitely recommend to a colleague. An overall 5 stars. Definitely worth getting!

This is a very nicely done book. It's not like the original Pok�mon adventure. This one follows more closely to the Red and American Blue game. Instead of Ash and Gary, Ash is called Red and Gary is called Blue. Thereis also a girl named Green but she comes in a later book. There is also noJessie and James, only the Team Rocket members you see in the game. Red isalso a more mature and advanced trainer than Ash and Blue iswiser thanGary. A Prima Strategy Guide Not To Be Missed
