5-0 out of 5 stars One of the weaker volumes, but still a wonderful series
My friend, a huge fan of the Warriors series, is what got me into this wonderful story, and I'm glad she did.
5-0 out of 5 stars There are not your ordinary cats
I am a librarian, and I started reading this series in 2005. I never really understood why it was for children because there is more violence and bloodshed then the Harry Potter series. Moreover, The Warriors saga became a lot more darker and gothic once it spun off onto the sequel: "T.N.P."

5-0 out of 5 stars Silkstripe, thunderclan warrior
i loved this book.i bet crowfeather and leafpool will have kits, but cinderpelt will be keeping a close eye because she is already suspecting leafpool and they will be half-clan which really causes problems.i wish squirrelflight, (by the way, i love that name!) and brambleclaw liked each other still.brambleclaw is becoming untrustful, i mean, of course he wants to see his half brother, but me and my friend, Skyleaf, suspect he might kill firestar.or (as a hint in the new book cover) firestar might die by protecting his clan from a bear.who will become leader if he dies?graystripe is nowhere to be found! :( hopefully cody will help him find his way to the clans.by the way, i liked cody, she would have been a good queen.there is no deputy so no leader!i just know brackenfur and sorreltail will have kits.i love the new territories, though i miss the old land and characters like the elders.i cannot wait until twilight coes out!!it is sooo exciting!!!!! hurry up!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars ANYONE WHO THINKS THESE BOOKS SUCK, YOU SUCK
This book is great!I'm am like the number one warrior fan and I can't wait for twilight.I have it on preorder and I think i'm going to die if I don't get this book.I can't wait to see see if brambleclaw gets back toghether and what will happen to leafpool and crowfeather.I LOVE THESE BOOKS AND IF YOU READ IT YOU WILL TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a senior in college and am going to be an Elementary school teacher. I am currently interning in a Kindergarten class and they love Skippyjon Jones.
5-0 out of 5 stars The best little bookito I have readito!
Even though my daughter is a little young for this book I picked it up anyway...I love this little character.Like the reviews above the little sing-a-longs and the story itself is just so cute.I plan on buying all the skippyjonjones books and the little guy himself! You won't be dissappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Skippyjon Jones is adorable
I have had Siamese cats all my life, and Skippyjon is certainly a Siamese, even though he thinks he's a Chihuahua. The author has captured the imagination of a Siamese kitten perfectly. As an elementary school media specialist, I can say this book is loved by all children.I'm sorry if the Latin culture is offended by this cute story (funny how Speedy Gonzales wasn't offensive many years ago), but the bravery of Skippito Friskito should be commended as he fights the bandito.Children love the accent and the cat!As for me, it's a book I can't get out of my head. ... Editorial Review

He may be an old standby, but he never lets us down. When in doubt, turn to the story of the cat that transformed a dull, rainy afternoon into a magical and just-messy-enough adventure. There's another, hidden adventure, too: this book really will help children learn to read. With his simple and often single-vowel vocabulary, the good Doctor knew what he was doing: hear it, learn it, read it--laughing all the way. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Childhood Favorite! More than meets the eye!
The Cat in the Hat at first glance may seem like a nonsensical text meant merely to amuse its readers. If you stop and ponder this story of two children left at home alone one afternoon, you soon realize there is a more powerful message than first meets the eye. The children clearly know the difference between right and wrong, but with the slightest influence from the Cat, they easily give in. I believe the fish represents their conscience. They choose to ignore its warning time and again, and therefore, find themselves in a mountain of mess. Before the story's end, they are able to right the wrongs, but we as readers are left with this thought and question: "Then our mother came in and she said to us two, "Did you have any fun, tell me what did you do?" Should we tell her about it? Now what SHOULD we do? What would you do if your mother asked you?" (Seuss, 60-61).

5-0 out of 5 stars Warriors of the Dawn
If you havn't read the series this book may be confusing. It is a very good book. The characters were mazing. There were five cats that walked all the way to the sun drown place. Feathertail dies but she saved all of the other cats. When they get back with thier Clan Squirrelpaw was told that her sister was captured by the two-legs. Squirrelpaw ended up saving her and a bunch of other cats. Graystripe was caught in the process of the rescue. Near the middle of the book the two-legs drive the cats out of the forrest. They head for the mountians to get to thier new home on the other side. In the mountians they find the tribe cats who helped save the kits. They stay with the tribe cats to regain thier strength an move on. I loved this book, it was amazing. If you like cats you will love this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dawn: The BEST book in the seires so far by: Rogueheart, a WindClan warrior
Dawn is the greatest book in the seires! I love it! I think that it is awsome how Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw like each other so much. It's really sad how Graystripe is captured. And how Stormfur joins the Tribe of Rushing Water to be with Brook. But, all in all, this book is a great recovery from Moonrise. Me and my friend Blackeye,a ShadowClan warrior, were thrilled when we found out that Firestar and Sandstorm had kits, so it's nice to get both Leafpaw's and Squirrelpaw's point of view!

5-0 out of 5 stars Uh Huh Uh Huh Uh Huh (He's a yes man!)
We picked this book up with a CD of the author reading the story through school last year.My son loves it still 6 months later & I find it pretty amusing myself. We have had side discussions about time out, not drawing on the walls, how watching tv is a privilege, using your imagination, and how sassing your parents ("You're not the boss of me!") will get a child in trouble for sure.My son even took it to preschool last year to share with his class.Since it is about cats, I think young girls would be entertained as well.As a parent, I recommend this book particularly if you can get it with the read-along DVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Skippyjon Jone in the Dog House
It is as great as the first book my family loved the story. Again it is a book to have at home for children of all ages.

4-0 out of 5 stars Skippyjon Jones in the Doghouse
My 6 year old daughter loves Skippy and we were both excited when we saw this, the second Skippyjon Jones book! The first book was fabulous! All of our family (dad, three daughters ranging in ages from 6-16, and myself) adored Skippy. The rhymes are fun to do and the book has a lot of energy, just like the first.Of course this book is similar to the first--it is a children's book and we bought it specifically because we liked the format of the first book.We are already anticipating the third book and will happily buy it when it comes out.Skippy is an extremely imaginative, high-energy, creative boy kitty who, like all little kids at one time or another, does naughty things. That doesn't make this a bad book, if anything, it should be a way to have a conversation with your young child about appropriate behavior. In the end, this was a fun, fast-paced fictional children's book that all three of my children laughed at and listened to when I read it--and that's saying something considering the older two are 11 and 16!!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars "Oh my friends, I always wanted a family. You are my family...Just as I protect you, so you protect me. I am grateful"
This Newbery honor book is the story of families of origin and families of creation. It is also a tale depicting the power of love and of story. Framed within the present in which Ben and Abby, brother and sister, spend time in their grandfather's barn listening to a tale told by the barn cat, Whittington, who is a descendant of the fabled Dick Whittington's cat. The novel "Whittington" moves between a re-telling of the medieval Whittington tale to two present day tales in which Ben is struggling to read and the animals are struggling for primacy in the barn.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Marvelous Retelling of a Classic Story
This is a marvelous retelling of a classic children's story, as told to a group of farm animals and children by--of course--a cat. Dick Whittington was a real person and while the story somewhat enhances the truth, it is still worth reading.

I never cared for that Mutts comic strip in the newspapers.Too cute and not funny.Maybe it's because I'm an adult. And maybe I have no excuse for reading the comics at all at this point.I don't know. But McDonnell's characters and light touch work well in this context, in a kid's book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous and Charming
A black-and-white picture book that is more gorgeous than any color book I've seen in a long time. Henkes' kitten is charming and beautifully drawn; the text is simple enough for a child to memorize but as rhythmic and elegant as haiku. A great book to read aloud at bedtime. Deserves the Caldicott medal fifty times over. My two-year-old niece was captivated by the bold lines of the illustrations; my four-year-old nieces loved the simple but clever story about the kitten who longs for that little bowl of milk waiting for her in the sky - the full moon.

There are two diffrent kinds of covers. One with Cloudpaw and Fireheart, One with fireheart and Sandstorm. Last tuesday was library day: The second one. I was thinking "The books I borrowed this time was boring." So I returned them, went to the fiction section and found 5 series of warriors. I picked the 4th in the series, as It was appealing. I read this one first, I had gotten three books. This book is far by better than almost ANY book I have ever read.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Troubles Heat Up
This was a more intense "reality-check" kind of book. Fireheart is now appointed deputy in the place of the forever-loathed Tigerclaw, and he has new responsibilities way beyond being a warrior. His best friend has gone, and left Fireheart to deal with problems alone. Fireheart, formerly a kitty-pet, visited his sister, Princess, from time to time at the twoleg place and has promised to watch over and possibly mentor her oldest son in Thunder clan, Cloudpaw, who is stubborn and disobediant to the warrior-code. Thunderclan's leader, completely shocked by Tigerclaw's betrayal, has been mentally and physically weakening leaving most of her priorities as burdens to Fireheart on top of those of being a deputy. This is a hard book to read but so real that, however emotional it is, you can't stop reading the adventures.

A lot is going on in this book and to Fireheart its a little overwhelming Cloudpaw is more lyal now than ever and is getting better everyday. I soon expect him to be a warrior. Fireheart is deputy and taking on a lot of responsibility. Also him and Sandstorm have come quite close i hope it lasts. Fireheart and Graystripe have always been best friends will Graystripe stay loyal to the clan hes in now? ... Read more

At last Tigerstar and BloodClan are gone. The forest Clans are currently living in peace, but then Brambleclaw gets a mysterious dream from Bluestar telling of a prophecy and how he must meet with four other cats and listen to midnight. Brambleclaw struggles to make heads or tails of this dream. Meanwhile, Firestar's daughter Squirrelpaw continues to get on Brambleclaw's nerves. Although later on the cats get along better after Brambleclaw meets Feathertail, Tawnypelt (his sister), and Crowpaw, who is a rather irritating apprentice. Feathertail is joined by Stormfur, her brother who wants to protect her (both of the warriors are Graystripe's kits), and Squirrelpaw tags along as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really Good Book
This is a Really good book.I am glad that they switched the main character because Firestar is a leader so he can not move up the ranks in Thunder Clan. I kinda wish she did not Brambleclaw bet he is cool. This series is as good as the other series.Sqirrelpaw is pretty cool so are the other "chosen" cats. It has love, action, mythology, and mystery twisted into one. I advise everyone to read this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Crazy Cat Comes Back
I thought this books was very good. I liked this book because it's very creative. Also i liked this book because its a very silly book for you to read at night. Also if you are in a bad mood that dorky Cat in the Silly hat will cheer you up! Dr. Seuss is a very good author. He expresses his amagination through the cat, which makes the story even better. I also liked this story because the stupid cat always makes messes and problems then ends up not only picking up his own mess but everybody elses as well, and make a big problem into a great thing. Therefor even though its a childesh book something in it makes it special and so i enjoyed it very much!

    5-0 out of 5 stars Cat-echism
As we covered in our review of the Cat in the Hat (Cat and Chaos September, 2004), the Cat represents Chaos in the otherwise pleasing order of things in Suburban America. Now, Mr. and Mrs. Average have left their offspring home alone again, and the cat comes back. Right here, the average reader has to be questioning why someone hasn't gotten that cat on the list of child-stalkers, or at least had a restraining order taken out against him.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Secrets of the Forest
In the third Warriors book, Fireheart must find the answers to many secrets, though some of them are probably better left undiscovered. At the start of the book, Fireheart sneaks away to visit Ravenpaw, who is still at Barley's farm. Ravenpaw reveals that Oakheart had never been murdered at all, but simply crushed in a rockfall, and then Redtail was murdered by Tigerclaw.

They're all sooo good! Fireheart is still struggling over Tigerclaw's treachery, Graystripe's passionate affair with Silverstream, and Cinderpaw's lost future because of her injury. Oh, and the mischievous Cloudkit/Cloudpaw. Still, the ending's sooo good. Even though poor Silverstream who just HAD to die! At least her kits (later on Feathertail and Stormfur) survive. Anyway read this one. It's soo suspenseful! And it's soo cool that Fireheart became the Clan deputy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Most Mysterious Book in the Series
This story is about Fireheart on a quest appointed by himself to find out the truth behind a power-thirsty murder and also to uncover proof and details to back up his story that Tigerclaw is behind the whole treachery. On the way to find the truth he discovers secrets unknown to the rest of the clans (except those who witnessed them) and meets other obstacles on the way. This story is the most suspenseful one in the series along with the perplexing prophesies and the weep-out-loud deaths and partings. There is also a shocking ending which I assure you will enjoy. ... I read this book the first time one of my cats died, and cried my first healing tears. Since that time, I've given the book to about 16 friends who have lost their cats, knowing the book will help heal the passing over of their loved ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warriors Series
The Warriors series is the best series in the world! It's suspenseful and full of action. After each chapter is a new problem to think of. Betrayal, romance, action, and humor are found throughout the book. In the Warriors: The Darkest Hour, Bluestar is dead and Firestar is now leader of ThunderClan and with Tigerstar leader of ShadowClan, there's going to be problems. Tigerstar has formed with RiverClan to create TigerClan. A new threat grows in the forest though, stronger than TigerClan.

Bluestar has been killed, So Fireheart has become leader of Thunderclan. When he is receiving nine lives from Starclan (like heaven), Dead Bluestar tell that four will two, Tiger and lion will battle, and blood will rule the forest. Mean while Tigerstar want more power so he hires Bloodclan to attack Thunderclan. But Bloodclan kills Tigerstar and then attacks Thunderclan. There is a raging battle and you have to read the book to figure out who wins! I think it is the best of the six because it has suspense and action.
