4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not as good as `Where's Spot?'
Although `Where's Spot' is my son's absolute favourite book, this did not meet with the same degree of enthusiasm.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
My nine-month-old daughter LOVES Spot Goes to the Farm. She can lift all the flaps by herself. We love the board book edition -- it's so sturdy! This book is just plain fun!I can't recommend it enough!

5-0 out of 5 stars We love Spot
Spot the Dog books are a favourite with my girls. They love the simple stories that they can relate to (hiding, baking a cake, playing with others etc) and the lift-the-flaps always bring screams of delight even though we've read them many many times. As they grow I'm sure they'll be one of the books they learn to read with. The words are simple and the font easy to read.Lovely books to cuddle up with your children on your lap. They are also big enough to hold up and read to them as they sit in back seat on car trips. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Book review
This book wasn't as helpful as I expected.Alot of it just common things that are generally practiced with experienced dog owners. It really didn't offer any new activities.
4-0 out of 5 stars a fun book to read and learn about your dog
My seven year old son loves this book and has taught me, as the mother, quite a few things for training and playing with our new puppy. A wonderful and playful, yet sensile approach for children.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son LOVES this book!
My son, almost 3 now, has been helping us read this book to him for most of the past year now.He loves to count the vehicles and pick out the details-like the dog blowing bubbles. It has been his favorite book since the day we got it.I recommend this book to anyone with a little boy who likes his trucks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Truck lovers everywhere rejoice!
Why I hesitated on buying this book for my 20 month old is beyond me.The vibrant colors used on each and every page are worth the purchase alone.I didn't realize that the book would also teach counting from 1 to 5 since it takes several different vehicles to get the truck unstuck. It is sure to nuture the love of reading in your child and you won't mind reading it over and over either.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Read!!
I got this book because we have Chugga Chugga Choo Choo!It has become one of my son's favorite. It is a fun book to read and my 3 year old son already had parts memorized by the first reading. You can help but enjoy reading this book aloud. It is a fun book for all ages. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Sequel, Some Reservations
Shiloh Season is the second book in the Shiloh Trilogy. In this ongoing saga, 11-year-old Marty must face some of the consequences of past decisions, particularly the secret of how he managed to "buy" his beagle Shiloh from Judd Travers, his previous owner. Just when we thought Marty's fears about Shiloh's well-being were over, Judd begins to drink heavily and is displaying erratic behavior which causes Marty to once again fear for Shiloh's safety, as well as his own. Marty faces some difficult decisions again, as well as showing maturity as he wrestles with needing to protect Shiloh and wanting to find out if it's possible to teach kindness to someone who has never known it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A humorous book.
Are you bored of mystery books?Well, get Henry and Beezus. It's the most funny book ever. It's about Henry wanting a bike and earning it.Henry finds lots of bubble gum packages and sells them. But a lot of kids at school are tired of them. Then Scooter goes to camp while Henry is taking his route to deliver Journals on the neighbors' front door step. Then Henry is dared to eat Woofy Dog Food. After that Henry has won beauty tickets, so Henry sold his beauty tickets and got his bike.--Andrea Arauza, Aimee Lopez, Shelly Newman and Diana Ruiz in Ms. Marik's 6th grade class

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Book I Have Ever Read!
On a scale of one to ten Henry and Beezus by Beverly Cleary is a twenty. That is why I am going to try to persuade you to read this wonderful book. The first reason you should read this book is because once you pick it up you just cannot put it down. It has so many funny things that happen to Henry, Beezus, and Ramona that you cannot wait to read what happens next. Now I am going to tell you a little about this book. It is about a boy, Henry, who wants a new bicycle. His parents cannot afford to buy him one so he decides to find a way to get the money himself. If you want to know how he gets the money you will have to read the book. But don't think that reading a book about a boy that gets money to get a bike is boring. In this book Beverly Cleary makes it so much more interesting. So if you want a book that you can read that will bring the kid side out of you again, read Henry and Beezus by Beverly Cleary.

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting Book
In this Henry Huggin's book, Henry is trying to get a bike. So, he tries to save his money up to buy one. Also, Ribsy gets into lots of trouble. Some of the parts are very funny. I would reccommend the book to anyone 8 and up. ... Read more

My son, who is hard of hearing and is learning to speak, loves to read this book with me.It has taught him to differentiate prepositions like "inside" and "under".I often will read a page (i.e. Is Spot in the closet?) and he will respond by saying "No, the snake is in the closet."Wonderful for any child learning to speak.

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent story.
"Now where in the world is that poky little puppy?" is the prevailing question. The persistence of this puppy can lead to two understandings of this book. One being if you break the rules, you get what you want most of the time. Two being, being pokey won't get you anywhere. The good puppies proved to their mom that they knew what was wrong and corrected it to get treats. Positive reinforcement. As a child I enjoyed this book, now that I'm grown I would rather read something else.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just one of my favorites from childhood.

You would not believe the things this dog Pete puts in his stomach. Anaccordion, for starters. Then an eggbeater, a glue stick, Mrs. Parsley's pinkpocketbook, and cousin Rocky's underpants. ("Uggh!") Pete's faithful mistress,Poppy Wise, is at her wit's end. And yet, she can't help loving that dog.("Quite a lot.") 4-0 out of 5 stars One of my son's favorite books
Great book. I have read to my 3 year old son a hundred times, he loves it and it has letters from A-Z. Not your normal book for pre-schoolers because it's interesting for adults too. I am giving it for XMas gifts to nephews.

3-0 out of 5 stars What Pete Ate from A to Z
What Pete ate from A to Z was about little dog that liked to eat many things he shouldn't. Each time they tell you about a new thing he ate it starts with the next letter of the alphabet. Sometimes when they told you the thing he ate they would also tell you a little about what he was eating. Finally at the end of the book you find out the one thing Pete won't eat, but I'll let you find that out for yourselves. This book teaches kids about the Alphabet and also what things might be edible and what things are not edible, Morocco, the continent of Africa, what you do with money, and not to take other peoples things without asking them first. I recommend this book because it not only teaches you about the alphabet but about also about things that start with those letters. This book would be good for kids around the age of 3-5 yeas old.

5-0 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS ALL HER OTHERS - WHICH IS GREAT!
Maira Kalman does it again. She has written a book that I (as a godmother) love to read over and over to my god-daughter who loves to hear it again and again. Everytime we read it, we find something new to say about it and talk about. This writer is so original and charming and even, sophisticated. Her style is very conversational and really creative. She is a perfect companion to see the world with... 4-0 out of 5 stars Marcus' review on Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night
I liked thisbook because it's about camping and I like camping. The fish had a great picture.Henry's mother was setting up the camp and the really funny part was when Mudge unpacked a ham sandwich and it looked like a bunch of leaves. His dad brought his guitar and a smile on his face because he was happy to be camping. It was funny when Henry and Mudge thought that there were bears so they were hugging each other.I thought it was a good book because in the end Mudge does something really funny but you have to read the book to find out what it is.

5-0 out of 5 stars GRIZZ is GREAT!
What a clever, fun, and unexpected gem of a story. You could not ask for a better blend of humor and storyline to keep a child riveted and laughing all at the same time.I am so happy we got this one and hope John Frank will write some more! The illustrations are marvelous and augment the story beautifully.

5-0 out of 5 stars SUPER Funny!Highly recommend for Boy OR Girl!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Gem
Dense with rich narrative language, crackling dialogue, stunning art and sidesplitting humor, this enormously entertaining western stands apart from the rest of the herd. The text is longer than that of most picture books, but it's all muscle and no fat; there's nary a wasted word. Many of the students in my undergraduate children's-literature course are headed for a career in elementary education, and all of them ought to include this title in their future classroom libraries. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A Journey Into The Wild
While reading this novel, I felt as though I was on a journey. The sensory detail and connections that I could make with Buck made his jouney seem more and more real to me. Watching Buck transform from a domesticated house dog, to a wild, one with nature, almost wolf-like animal was both amazing and heart-wrenching. It was amazing to see how the wild changed Buck so much, but it was sad to see how the major struggles and difficulties he faced sort of forced him to change. Buck had great determination and spirit that was clearly shown through his actions and reactions to his surroundings.
5-0 out of 5 stars At times gut-wrenching and heartbreaking...
Jack London needs to be given his proper due. He is a tremendously talented writer and his understanding of life matches his tremendous knowledge of the snow-enshrouded world of the upper latitudes. Although The Call of the Wild is a short novel and on the surface a dog's story, it contains as much truth and reality of man's own struggles as that which can be sifted from the life's work of many other respected authors.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good for all ages
I read it when one of my kids had to read it. A great story and brings up a lot of American history for teaching and learning (about the Gold Rush). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars simple but to the point
This book is geared for ages 2-6 but my 19-month-old toddler loves the story.Biscuit's owner, a little girl, teaches Biscuit what the Thanksgiving holiday is all about.Biscuit puts the ideas he learns into action by interacting throughout the story with the little girl, Daisy (the cat), and Grandpa and Grandma who come over for Thanksgiving dinner. What I find wonderful about the Biscuit holiday books are the flaps that open to reveal what Biscuit is doing. The concepts of sharing and doing good deeds for others is the theme. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good book
My daughter is in first grade and is a beginner reader and she loves Bisquit books. They are on her level and the pictures of Bisquit are so adorable, she loves to read about his adventures and Bisquit is trying to be a big dog when he is a little puppy and she relates to this because she wants to be like her big brother.I would recommend this book for ages 4 to 7.
