Favorite book for beginner readers
This is a great book for little children.The text is simple and the flaps provide answers to questions in the story.The board book format is easy for children to use without the worry of ripped pages.The size is appropriate for pudgy little hands.

We love Spot The Dog
Spot the Dog books are a favourite with my girls.They love the simple stories that they can relate to (hiding, baking a cake, playing with others etc) and the lift-the-flaps always bring screams of delight even though we've read them many many times.As they grow I'm sure they'll be one of the books they learn to read with.The words are simple and the font easy to read.Lovely books to cuddle up with your children on your lap.They are also big enough to hold up and read to them as they sit in back seat on car trips.

Running Around in Circles
I remember reading this book in grade school and loving it.I decided to revisit the book as an adult and I could not believe this was the same book that I loved.I could not wait for the book to end.
Lots of Adventures
This book is about two dogs and one cat traveling through the Canadian wilderness, and their adventures trying to survive and make it back to their family. This book was an exciting book with lots of adventure. I would recommend this book to my friends. The book is easy to understand and fun to read. My likes and dislikes are that I liked the adventure in it, and my dislikes are well, I didn't have any dislikes really; it was a pretty good book.If I were to rank this book one through ten, I would give it a nine. This book will put you on the edge of your seat, and you will never want to put the book down again; you want to keep reading it. The main plot of the book is that the pets decide they want to see their real family. Because their owner right now is not there original owner. So Sassy the cat, Chance the English Bull dog, and Shadow the Golden Retriever set out on adventure to find their family. On their adventure they work together to make their way back home and use teamwork to survive. The question is do they make it back home? Do they survive the Canadian wilderness? Do they finally get back to their family? Read the book and find out.

Who Let the Dogs In?
Works on many levels
My 2-year old daughter enjoys this book as much as the adults that read it to her, but on a very different level. She loves the idea that Bobo WANTS to be a good dog, but doesn't always succeed, and that his friends help him. She also loves the big KAPOW when he runs into Mrs. Birdhead. (Oh, and she enjoys trying to imitate Bobo sitting, particularly lotus position.) She has no idea why the adults think it's funny that Bobo's idea of "sit" involves a chair and sometimes the lotus position. She sees it as a finely nuanced psychological book about ethics (why is it OK for Cat to push Bobo when he's running down the stairs?) with good sound effects and a dog, which is everything she ever wanted out of a book.

Bobo's a hit
Our grandchildren,(Charlotte, 7, Lucy, 4, amd Peter, 2 1/2), giggled their way through this charming book. Gail Page's endearing illustrations depict Bobo as the favorite dog of everyone's childhood. And Cat, more helpful than most cats we've known personally, is a star as well. Not your average children's book!
I read this to kids from pre-school to 3rd grade.Not only does this book have beautiful pictures and lyrical language, but it lends itself to greater intelligent discussions.Kids yearn to talk about the various forms of transportation Sally takes, if it's really Sally driving that car, why dogs need friends too, and how much fun it is to be curious.Soon, after we reread the entire Sally series a couple more times, we are going to make our own book about when Sally comes to OUR classrooms.I know the style of Sally's story will translate to the kids' understanding about what's great about the environment they live in!

The first book she ever read!
This book was the first book my daughter ever picked up and read entirely on her own. She beamed with pride as she was able to sound out every word. It's simple story and helpful pictures gave her such a sense of accomplishment as she mastered her very first story. Playful Pup Persuasively Pounces
A boy who is afraid of dogs meets a friendly long-haired barking fellow looking to play. He tells him to go away, but the dog insists on being friends. The dog instantly loves the boy, but the boy isn't so sure. My "most favorite book"

I ordered this book for my 21 month old because she loves to watch Clifford the Big Red Dog on TV and she loves books.She really doesnt pick this book as much as I thought she would.I think because its not really illustrated too good and the people are different than on the TV show.

A favorite in our house!

A long-time favorite!
My sisters and I loved this book when we were small and I'm having fun reading this book to my little one. Poor Madeline, always ornery, never learning, falls into a river and a dog rescues her. It's very sweet to see how the girls fight over the dog but, when she gets out one night and returns, there was enough "hound to go around," as the book says when dear Genevieve has a litter of puppies, one for each girl.This is a darling classic and quite worthy of the Caldecott Award it received.

Very informative book for children 9 and up.
The illustrations in this book are beautiful and easy to understand. Children can follow and understand how to care for and train their new puppy. This is not a book for people who are looking to learn about dog behavior the history of a dog. You will need to find a more informative book like; Good Owners, Great Dogs by Brian Kilcommons for that kind of information. But for older children who want to learn to care for their dog this is a good book for them.
excellent book for children
This is an excellent book for your children if you plan to make puppy a new member of your family. It guides the children through the various stages of training a puppy, has good photographs supporting the text and highlights certain important phrases. Whislt it, of course, does not cover all aspects of dog traing, it does not need to do that: the training will be the adults responsibility, and not the child's. The child however can and should support those efforts and by reading this book can add to the training and hence become a responsible dog owner her/ himself.

what i think about thsi book
I thought that this book was a good book for little kids because it teaches you manner and responsibilty. This book used a good way to teach you good manners. It made learning good manners fun.

best book we ever bought
Though (. . .) some of the examples being a bit odd for a preschooler, it's been one of the best books we ever bought for our son (then 2 yrs, now almost 4.) Our son absolutely adors Clifford and we use him (and the book) as a role model. When he starts, or does, something naughty, we'll ask, "Would Clifford do that?" Awesome book
I bought this book for my 3 kids, ages 7, 5 and 3, and we really enjoyed it. I heard about the author in my Literature Course, and wanted to read a book from her. I loved the drawings and the rhyming, which made a perfect book for a group reading. My kids enjoyed it too, specially with all those animals in the story.
