Grumpy Garret needs to get a grip.
I disagree with the "reviewer" below who didn't enjoy Baby Alligator. (Actually, it sounds like Garret may be ready for books in the level 3 series.) Baby Alligator is typical of books in the All Aboard Reading series (level 2)--full-page, color illustrations that lure young readers to the simple text. Baby Alligator is a brief introduction to alligators and crocodiles, and the book delighted my 7-year-old daughter. She proclaimed the illustrations "very good," and said, "I sure learned a lot about alligators." We look forward to reading Clarke's next children's book.

A nice book, and a good read for first-graders
As a former teacher and current homeschooling mother, I find Baby Alligator to be at the correct reading level for my first-grader, and at the same time full of facts that a child can grasp at this reading level. The illustrations are well-done and not overly cute. Minus one star for all the exclamation points, but this book brought us much pleasure.

I thought The Yucky Reptile Book was good because the pictures were creative and colorful. One animal I liked was the leatherback turtle. The turtle had dark colors and was extremely scary when I looked at it. I think Ralph Masiello's books are incredible. Other kids should read these books.

Fascinated By Frogs.

Beautifully illustrated; tender story for one's imagination!

Great for third grade level
The students that I shared this book with were quite familiar with most parts of this book already.They definitely enjoyed the book though!I didn't use the stickers though (I ripped them out before I gave the book to the kids).I don't want kids to think that it's okay to be putting stickers in books:)

The best book for a budding herpetologist
This book has had my son absolutely enrapured for weeks. There are probably 50 (+) or so line drawings each of snakes, salamanders, turtles and other lizards each with an interesting explanation. Your child can color in each drawing after finding its picture somewhere in the book. The diagrams are detailed enough for older kids as well as little ones probably starting with age 5 or so.This book also has pages of colored stickers for extra fun and observation.This is absolutely the best book of its kind.
