I learnt this song when I was a child and when I could share this with my kids - it was a joy.The illustrations are sweet & give the child something to search for on each page. The music is great & helps you learn the song yourself - so you can sing the song as a family.

Jerry and David have an amazing ability to create sensitive and intricate music and sing the most endearing words making a song lovely for all ages to enjoy. The children I care for love Teddy Bear picnic, as well as, the whole compilation of songs on "Not for Kids Only." The book/ tape combo is a wonderful gift for baby showers. Moms love the music too because its easy on the ears. Hats off to Jerry and David! They are masters at what they do! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great series
Great series for young and old looking for a mental shut-down for bed book.

5-0 out of 5 stars An exciting look into Martin's past and a wonderful read that takes a look at big issues. Highly recommended
The sixth Redwall novel, Martin the Warrior is the story of young Martin's imprisonment by, escape from, and war against the Badrang the Tyrant, ruler of Marshank. Martin is a young mouse, the son of Luke the Warrior. He is captured and enslaved by Badrang, and one night, after violent insurrection, tied up to suffer through a raging storm. It is then he meets Rose, a maiden mouse from the peaceful sanctuary of Noonvale whose brother Brome has also been captured by Badrang. Martin, Rose, and Brome arrange from an escape from Marshank, promising the other slaves that they will one day come back to free them all and to destroy Badrang and his fortress forever. With the help of a roving band of circus performers and a mass of willful slaves, and across a journey through the coastal lands, Brome and Martin each struggle to stay alive, build an army, and return to destroy Badrang. This is a throughly enjoyable installment of the Redwall series, Martin the Warrior provides anxiously-awaited background to Martin's character as he discovers and refines his fighting spirit, experiences peace in Noonvale, and forms a deep friendship with Rose. The book is exciting, the characters (particularly those of Martin, the warrior Felldoh, and the peaceful Brome) are realistic and inspiring, and the book tackles some of the ethical and personal problems of war and the warrior's life that the other Redwall books overlook. It is a great read, a logical lead up to later Redwall books and to the building of Redwall itself, and one of the better books in this series.
5-0 out of 5 stars The best one!
I love the Redwall books because the charictors are great and there is a ton of action. This one is the best book because of how much is happening. Friends turn to enemys and enemys turn to friends. This book is also a tear jerker because if all the deaths but I love it anyway! ... Read more

Editorial Review

An affectionate, sometimes bashful pig named Wilbur befriends a spider named Charlotte, who lives in the rafters above his pen. A prancing, playful bloke, Wilbur is devastated when he learns of the destiny that befalls all those of porcine persuasion. Determined to save her friend, Charlotte spins a web that reads "Some Pig," convincing the farmer and surrounding community that Wilbur is no ordinary animal and should be saved. In this story of friendship, hardship, and the passing on into time, E.B. White reminds us to open our eyes to the wonder and miracle often found in the simplest of things. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A fine work of literature that can stand alongside any in English
I just reread it recently as an adult. I had this boxed set of three hardcover E.B. White books when I was a kid - Charlotte's Web, The Trumpet of the Swan (which I remember as my favorite of the three, though I hardly remember it today), and Stuart Little.
5-0 out of 5 stars Charlotte's Web
I've purchased this book for my daughter who is almost 9 years old, I end up reading it before her. This book is great for growing up kids; how wonderful and variable it is to have a friend he/she can depend on and be with to share fun, sad and so so stories to one another.
4-0 out of 5 stars A classic, and for a good reason
This book, though it may seem to be just a cute story about a pig, is actually quite sad.The first time I read this book I was in first grade and I liked it, but it was only when I just recently read it again that I realized how good it really is. This book, through its simple plot, reminded me a lot about how selfless some people are and also about growing up.No wonder it's a classic; even though it's written for little kids, it can remind a lot of people about their own lives and bring back a lot of fond memories. ... Editorial Review

Roy Eberhardt is the new kid--again. This time around it's Trace MiddleSchool in humid Coconut Grove, Florida. But it's still the same old routine:table by himself at lunch, no real friends, and thick-headed bullies like DanaMatherson pushing him around. But if it wasn't for Dana Matherson mashing hisface against the school bus window that one day, he might never have seen thetow-headed running boy. And if he had never seen the running boy, he might neverhave met tall, tough, bully-beating Beatrice. And if he had never met Beatrice,he might never have discovered the burrowing owls living in the lot on thecorner of East Oriole Avenue. And if he had never discovered the owls, heprobably would have missed out on the adventure of a lifetime. Apparently, bullies do serve a greater purpose in the scope of the universe. Because if itwasn't for Dana Matherson...Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars HOOT
My book for my review was called Hoot. Hoot is about a boy named Roy . Roy is the main character in the story. The author's name is Carl Hiaasen. I would recommend this book to girls because I have know some boy who have read this book and did not like it. Hoot is my favorite book. I have read it 7 times! I think this book is best for girls. From ages 9 to 12 it is more of a kid book than an adult book.

Roy Eberhart, Mullet Fingers, and Beatrice Leep are trying to save little baby owls and their existence from Mother Paula's all American Pancake House, Inc. They do a series of stuff to the construction site so they couldn't build the pancake house in Coconut Cove, Florida.Mother Paula's knows they are there, but they want the pancake house anyway. I recommend this to kids who like fiction and who are very adventurous people.

4-0 out of 5 stars simple and fun
Caps for Sale is a delightful tale that is simple but with the right amount of absurdity that kids love. The repetition of words and the copycat element (when the monkeys imitate the peddler's actions)is entertaining for very young children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Funner than I even remembered!
In searching reviews to find great books, I struggled to remember if I liked this one as a kid!I remembered the cover, but not the story! When it came, I was delighted to find that I loved the story, and my son has a NEW favorite book!He grins ear to ear as soon as the peddler wakes up from his nap and discovers only one hat left on his head.My 20 month olddoesn't sit still from that point on in the story. He crouches so as to make monkey gestures and sounds. He wags his finger and says "tsk tsk tsk" just like the monkeys! He stomps his feet and waves his arms just like the monkeys! The monkeys are so mischievous, and I think my son relates! LOL!All in all, the little copycat monkeys throw their hats down to the peddler when he gets angry enough at their taunting to throw his hat down on the ground! It is very cute. There isn't variety in the illustrations as the same vintage colors are used on every page, but the story is so strong that I have to give this one 5 stars!Enjoy!I still do!

5-0 out of 5 stars Caps for Sale.........Caps for Sales......Caps for 50 cents!
"Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina is a marvelous children's book. An ingenious plot that I remember from my childhood. Now I am enjoying it again with my children. I was always fascinated by how he balanced those hats. The illustrations are quite simple but intriguing. Just looking at Pezzo with all those hats piled one on top of another is more interesting than many of the high tech special effects I have seen in today's movies. Sometimes the simple way is the best.

Although he lacks a voice in the traditional "Ko-hoh!" sense, trumpeterswan Louis learns to speak to the world with a trumpet stolen from a music storeby his father. With the support of an unusual boy named Sam, who helps Louislearn how to read and write, the swan has some rather unswanlike adventures andultimately wins the love--and the freedom--of a beautiful swan named Serena.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Trumpet of the Swan Review
I would like to recommend the book, The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White. The genre is fantasy. The setting takes place in the USA and Canada. One day there was a boy named Sam going for a walk, when he saw a family of swans heading to Montana. When they got to Montana one of the cygnets named Louis was defective and couldn't speak, so his father flew to Billings and stole a trumpet to help him speak. When Louis found out that his father stole the trumpet he decided to find a job so that he could pay back the money for all the damage and the trumpet. In the end Louis had a positive influence on all the people and swans he came in contact with.
3-0 out of 5 stars A Good Choice for Those with an Imagination
While reading this book, we follow a young Trumpeter Swan (or "cygnet" as the author clearly points out, as well as a male swan is a cob) named Louis, who is mute and cannot communicate. To enjoy this book, you have to pretend that a swan could go to school and learn to read and write, and to learn to play the trumpet. It has a happy ending which will please the dreamers. The only thing besides the repitition of facts in this book that bugged me was the cob's speeches- I often had to skip over the parts when he talked because it was so long and annoying.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Trumpet Of The Swan Review!
I have read many books in my life, and this book has been one of my favorites. The Trumpet Of The Swan has everything a good book needs: a amazing plot, a good story, and has many humorous parts. Two reasons why I liked this book is because it was silly and there was never a boring part in this novel.

3-0 out of 5 stars Running Around in Circles
I remember reading this book in grade school and loving it.I decided to revisit the book as an adult and I could not believe this was the same book that I loved.I could not wait for the book to end.
4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Adventures
This book is about two dogs and one cat traveling through the Canadian wilderness, and their adventures trying to survive and make it back to their family. This book was an exciting book with lots of adventure. I would recommend this book to my friends. The book is easy to understand and fun to read. My likes and dislikes are that I liked the adventure in it, and my dislikes are well, I didn't have any dislikes really; it was a pretty good book.If I were to rank this book one through ten, I would give it a nine. This book will put you on the edge of your seat, and you will never want to put the book down again; you want to keep reading it. The main plot of the book is that the pets decide they want to see their real family. Because their owner right now is not there original owner. So Sassy the cat, Chance the English Bull dog, and Shadow the Golden Retriever set out on adventure to find their family. On their adventure they work together to make their way back home and use teamwork to survive. The question is do they make it back home? Do they survive the Canadian wilderness? Do they finally get back to their family? Read the book and find out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Truly an incredible journey!(...)
Have you ever heard of 2 dogs and a cat traveling through the Canadian Wilderness. This book is great for 5th grade students. The author of this book is Sheila Burnford.

5-0 out of 5 stars Childhood memories...
Maybe I am just going on childhood memories, but after all the Disney books (Snow White, Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio), Danny and the Dinosaur was my favorite book. I remembered it after twenty years... so it must have made an impact. The letters were big, but it wasn't simple like "See Jane run. See Dick run. See Jane and Dick run." It was a very simple book with a simple plot -- and now I have a [...] son who is in his DINOSAUR EVERYTHING phase, and I am getting it for him! (I know this review isn't helpful, but I just wanted to add to it) The cover has longed changed (it used to be a simpler off-white cover) but it's still the same cute Danny and his dinosaur.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, Fun, Fun
Danny and the Dinosaur is a delightful tale of imagination and good-humored fun.Danny visits a museum where he meets a dinosaur looking for a little bit of fun after 100 million years of just hanging around. They go and have a great time playing in the city.No one is hurt or placed in danger, and everyone has a good time.
5-0 out of 5 stars Gosh How I Used To Long For My Own Pet Dinosaur!
I used to read this sincerely great book to myself over and over as a little girl and I was sure that somehow, no matter what grown-ups said about that big old word "extinction"I would get my own pet dinosaur through the magic of what might be termed "wishcraft". Such a cool, cool book for a child. It let my mind drift away into a world where the impossible was possible and MAN I envied Danny.... ... Read more

The horse and his boy is a good book, so instead of saying it is the worst in the series, I will say that it is the 7th best.

4-0 out of 5 stars Stone Fox
I really liked this book. My favorite part was during the Race when Stone Fox was in last place and he came up right next to Little Willy. I thought the Ending was very sad because Searchlight died.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stone fox
I loved the stone fox the book it had sad parts and happy parts but the thing i liked the best was the race and how stone fox was a Indian. I also liked how at the end stone fox was nice to little Willy.

5-0 out of 5 stars delightful
I don't read fiction very often, but I do pull this old book off the shelf and read it from time to time.I've owned this book ever since I was in the fourth grade, and I've read it too many times to count. It is a great little fiction book to read.Fun story, and so simple.A perfect "murder mystery" for young children.
5-0 out of 5 stars Howliday Inn is a great book

Comes with a book of the songs, a cd & cassette. My oldest grandson had the original cassette when he was 3 or 4 years old.He loved it.He is now 17.
5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun for a dino lover
We bought this tape for my dino-loving son. It's lots of fun to listen to in the car.Has songs about most breeds of dinosaurs including his favorites - deinonychus (with his terrible claw) and pteradactyl.I even enjoy it (after the 1,000 playing)

5-0 out of 5 stars An all-time favorite of my 2.5 year old
This is the 2nd copy of this that we'll own since we wore out the first one from playing it so often. My son (age 2.5) won't sit in the car unless he can hear his "dinosaur songs." And he's learned a lot aboutdinosaurs and other things while he listens to it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What kid wouldn't want to read about a vampire bunny?
I don't care how old I get, I'm just not going to turn down a chance to read a book about a vampire rabbit, especially if it's told from the point of view of a dog.Good old Harold was pretty much living the good life until the introduction into the household of a cute wittle bunny wabbit the Monroes brought home with them from the movies one night.(Apparently a Dracula fan, the bunny was all settled in to watch the Count do his thing when one of the Monroe kids sat on him in the theater.)Little Bunnicula doesn't really bother Harold at all, since he sleeps all day and doesn't come between him and his treats.Harold's feline friend Chester, on the other hand, doesn't cotton to Bunnicula at all, seeing what no one else seems to notice - this bunny has fangs, and his coloration pattern sometimes makes it look like he's wearing a cape.Reading up on vampires while the Monroes sleep, Chester quickly becomes obsessed with getting this little bat in bunny's clothing out of the house as soon as possible - especially after healthy vegetables begin to show up completely drained of their color.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great book!
This is a great book.I have read it more than once.I especially like the white vegetables!I think that both boys and girls will like it.This is an interesting book because it helps you imagine how dogs and cats might think. The author of this book has a good imagination!

5-0 out of 5 stars Bunniculee, Bunnicula, Bunniculee, Bunicula-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Children's librarians have to prepare for certain kinds of questions. When a child walks up to your Reference Desk, you need to be ready to get them the exact book they're looking for at the exact moment that they want it.I get a lot of young kids, mostly girls, who want a good vampire book of their very own.Aside from the usual "Vampire State Building" and "Dracula Is a Pain In the Neck", both by Elizabeth Levy, there's really not a lot out there to recommend wholeheartedly. In fact, nine times out of ten, I find myself suggesting that most accessible of vampirism books, "Bunnicula".It doesn't star a human vampire, but you can hardly blame me.Now just this past week I found myself in the unenviable position of needing to find lots and lots and lots of copies of a single book for the upcoming meeting of my homeschooler bookgroup. And what delightful chapter book did I have enough copies in my library branch to satisfy screaming hoards of homeschooled kiddies?Again, it's "Bunnicula" to the rescue. It may not seem at first glance to have earned itself the moniker of "classic children's book", but I can attest right here and right now that when it comes to lifesaving go-to titles, I'll take "Bunnicula" over "Bridge To Terebithia" or "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret", any day.
