5-0 out of 5 stars tales of a fourth grade nothing
i thought that this book was really funny it made me laugh it was about peterliving in an apartment with his mom and baby brother fudge and this girl that is in his class room lives in the same apartment and he thinks that she is really annoying an she watches fudge when he is on the playground...... you'll see when you read it if you do!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Pretty Good Read
This book is highly entertaining. I am a HUGE fan of Judy Blume; she has written some of my favorite books. While this was a good book, I would have to say that I prefer Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great and Superfudge. This was still highly enjoyable and had a few laugh-out-loud funny parts. And who cares if it is a little unrealistic? What's wrong with a silly read every once in awhile? So anyway, I give it 4 stars.
5-0 out of 5 stars you'll laugh till you cant no more!
Hi well to start.... THIS IS SUCH A GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ever since the first chapter I couldn't stop laughing it's that good. I feel sory for Peter Hatcher who constantly has to deal with the never ending trouble of his little brother Fudge. Fudge can't seem to stop buging Peter. From ruining his homework to eating his turtle Fudge is an accadent waiting to happen! This book can olso get a message to an only child who wants a sibling that it's not so much fun to have one.anyway it's such a great book so get it hope this was helpful lol Brooke. "She was homeschooling gone amok." "She was an alien." "Her parents werecircus acrobats." These are only a few of the theories concocted to explainStargirl Caraway, a new 10th grader at Arizona's Mica Area High School who wearspioneer dresses and kimonos to school, strums a ukulele in the cafeteria, laughswhen there are no jokes, and dances when there is no music. The whole school, not exactly a"hotbed of nonconformity," is stunned by her, including our 16-year-old narratorLeo Borlock: "She was elusive. She was today. She was tomorrow. 5-0 out of 5 stars Childhood memories...
Maybe I am just going on childhood memories, but after all the Disney books (Snow White, Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio), Danny and the Dinosaur was my favorite book. I remembered it after twenty years... so it must have made an impact. The letters were big, but it wasn't simple like "See Jane run. See Dick run. See Jane and Dick run." It was a very simple book with a simple plot -- and now I have a [...] son who is in his DINOSAUR EVERYTHING phase, and I am getting it for him! (I know this review isn't helpful, but I just wanted to add to it) The cover has longed changed (it used to be a simpler off-white cover) but it's still the same cute Danny and his dinosaur.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, Fun, Fun
Danny and the Dinosaur is a delightful tale of imagination and good-humored fun.Danny visits a museum where he meets a dinosaur looking for a little bit of fun after 100 million years of just hanging around. They go and have a great time playing in the city.No one is hurt or placed in danger, and everyone has a good time.
5-0 out of 5 stars Gosh How I Used To Long For My Own Pet Dinosaur!
I used to read this sincerely great book to myself over and over as a little girl and I was sure that somehow, no matter what grown-ups said about that big old word "extinction"I would get my own pet dinosaur through the magic of what might be termed "wishcraft". Such a cool, cool book for a child. It let my mind drift away into a world where the impossible was possible and MAN I envied Danny.... ... Read more

The horse and his boy is a good book, so instead of saying it is the worst in the series, I will say that it is the 7th best.

4-0 out of 5 stars An Amazing book of pictures
My thought of this book is WOW! Pictures of Hollis Woods was a very heartfelt story about a girl abandonded in the forest she was named after. The pictures are memories, which I think is a very clever way to write a book. This book was full ofthe adventure of an abitous girl, making you unable to put it down. I'd reconmend this book to anyone 8 years old and up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pictures of Hollis Woods
Hollis Woods is a average girl all though she has been to many foster homes. One of the family's that she was staying with were the Regans, the only family that offered her a home. Then the Social Services moved her to a different home. She moved in with Josie. Josie is a very affectionate woman. Josie's memory was getting worser and worser everyday. Josie is a elderly paiter that has fllen in love with Hollis. If Social Services finds a different home then hollis will be taken away from Josie. So Hollis has a great plan, she will escape Social Services and she will take Josie with her. Hollis has been daydreaming about the family that she was last with. She remembers painting photos of them. She also remembers taking pictures of them. She is now thinking of all the fun that she had but she never noticed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Alice
One of the classic Disney movies I remembered was the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Reading this novel gave me the same feelings I had in my childhood years watching the movie. I could be wrong but it seems to me that everything in the book was exactly like the movie. Alice was reading her sister's book and fell asleep under a tree. Then she woke up, saw a rabbit in clothes with a clock talking. She then followed the rabbit into this hole. After that she was in a never ending tunnel, which lead her to a strange world. Alice encounters many obstacles in the story and showed how she dealt with them.
4-0 out of 5 stars Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
In the book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll a young girl with the name of Alice travels to a distant land that seems altogether and quite possibly unreal to her.The book starts off with Alice in the park with her sister. She has nothing to do as her sister is reading so when Alice sees a talking white rabbit scampering by, she doesn't hesitate to follow it.Following the rabbit leads her to a world she could have never dreamed of.This book can take you to magical places you would have never dreamed of.Through the use of Carroll's thorough descriptions and dramatic elements this book is sure to take you on one wild ride.I thought that the book was very well written and very interesting.I could really imagine what the characters look like and feel how Alice would have felt.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good adventure and lots of twists along the way. This book is for children and adults alike. As long as you have an imagination and a great sense of adventure you are sure to love this great tale of a girl and how she found herself in an imaginary world.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Childhood Favorite!
When I was eight years old, this version of Alice in Wonderland was aired on T.V.I thought I had watched the best movie ever at that time, and still, to this day, I have more fond memories of watching that movie than any other time in my life! The songs were beautiful!I can still sing the song Alice sang to the deer - "Why do people act as if they're crazy? Why to they behave the way they do? I have to say, this is one my favorite songs of all time!

Editorial Review

When poor James Henry Trotter loses his parents in a horrible rhinoceros accident, he is forced to live with his two wicked aunts, Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker. After three years he becomes "the saddest and loneliest boy you could find." Then one day, a wizened old man in a dark-green suit gives James a bag of magic crystals that promise to reverse his misery forever. When James accidentally spills the crystals on his aunts' withered peach tree, he sets the adventure in motion. From the old tree a single peach grows, and grows, and grows some more, until finally James climbs inside the giant fruit and rolls away from his despicable aunts to a whole new life. James befriends an assortment of hilarious characters, including Grasshopper, Earthworm, Miss Spider, and Centipede--each with his or her own song to sing. Roald Dahl's rich imagery and amusing characters ensure that parents will not tire of reading this classic aloud, which they will no doubt be called to do over and over again! 3-0 out of 5 stars james and the giant peach
This book was an okay one. It was a little weird, but I liked to read it. They had a lot of unrealistic stuff in it like a peach growing at an amazing rate. There was a cloud that turned into a mean rhino and scared James. There was a flying peach because they made a balloon. This book is recommended for grades 5th to 6th.

5-0 out of 5 stars Always a Pleasure!
We do seem to love the story of a child whose life is so miserable that it begs for a magical rescue and an exciting, dangerous and hair raising adventure. In James and the Giant Peach we meet one James Henry Trotter, one of these very same children who like his predecessors and successors (Harry Potter, Cinderella, Those Lemony Snickett Children, Hansel & Gretel, ect...) is leading a desperate and miserable life with is two wicked aunts...his parents were eaten by a wild, rampaging rhinoceros (naturally). On one particularly bad day, Henry hides behind some bushes and meets a strange old man who gives him some magic crystals (green glowing pellet things), which he is supposed to drink (mixed with water and ten of his own hairs), but of course he promptly trips and spills them on the ground under an ancient and withered peach tree. 4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Read!
James and the Giant Peach is about the adventures of a boy named James and his gigantic peach. At first James lived with his parent's until they died. Then James came to live with his Aunts. The Aunts were mean to James. When James was out one day an old man gave magic seeds to James.James was supposed to run home and drink them for his life to get better. But he dropped the seeds into the soil and into the peach tree and the peach tree grew a gigantic peach. One night James went into the peach and saw huge bugs with real personalities. The Peach rolled into the ocean and the bugs and Jame's were trying to get out of the ocean. The silk worm made string and attached them to sea gulls. They caught so many sea gulls that they started to rise from the ocean then they drifted off into the sky and eventually they got stuck on top of the Empire State building's needle. The policemen got them off the building and onto the ground and they were all treated like heroes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Book!
This is a good book because the author described it very good. All of her books are great. It's about a girl and her brother who go and try to find their dad and find out who they really are. Naomi starts out thinking she is one way and by the end of the story she thinks differently. This story is about a dysfunctional family being reunited with their dad. If you like this book then try Esperanza Rising by the same author.

What a great upbeat book that still covers the struggles of a child of a divorced family, living in poverty, and being of a mixed race.Great great read with a great ending that wasn't to unbelievable. It left you with a good feeling even though the struggles of the children were very real.Great life lessons as well as cultural lessons in this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars beautifully written
The "Thief Lord" is a wonderful contemporary story full of loss, beauty, adventure and a little bit of magic.Cornelia Funke's book has one several literary prizes and even bumped Harry Potter off the best sellers list in Germany and Northern Europe for a time.It never talks down to kids and is engaging to adults as well. The imagery of Venice is dead-on (just like I remembered) and the characters(Prosepero, Scipio) are richly portrayed. This is a story that is light on the fantastic but heavy on imagery and imagination just like the classics!

I bought this set on tape for my son's 6th birthday so we could listen to them in the car while travelling. The stories are well-done and made him use his imagination. We enjoyed trying guessing what dinosaurs were being described and he wondered if the kids could see the moon and stars while they were in the castle. Even my 3-year-old had a good time listening. They can't wait to go on another trip to hear more of the stories.

5-0 out of 5 stars What kid wouldn't want to read about a vampire bunny?
I don't care how old I get, I'm just not going to turn down a chance to read a book about a vampire rabbit, especially if it's told from the point of view of a dog.Good old Harold was pretty much living the good life until the introduction into the household of a cute wittle bunny wabbit the Monroes brought home with them from the movies one night.(Apparently a Dracula fan, the bunny was all settled in to watch the Count do his thing when one of the Monroe kids sat on him in the theater.)Little Bunnicula doesn't really bother Harold at all, since he sleeps all day and doesn't come between him and his treats.Harold's feline friend Chester, on the other hand, doesn't cotton to Bunnicula at all, seeing what no one else seems to notice - this bunny has fangs, and his coloration pattern sometimes makes it look like he's wearing a cape.Reading up on vampires while the Monroes sleep, Chester quickly becomes obsessed with getting this little bat in bunny's clothing out of the house as soon as possible - especially after healthy vegetables begin to show up completely drained of their color.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great book!
This is a great book.I have read it more than once.I especially like the white vegetables!I think that both boys and girls will like it.This is an interesting book because it helps you imagine how dogs and cats might think. The author of this book has a good imagination!

5-0 out of 5 stars Bunniculee, Bunnicula, Bunniculee, Bunicula-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Children's librarians have to prepare for certain kinds of questions. When a child walks up to your Reference Desk, you need to be ready to get them the exact book they're looking for at the exact moment that they want it.I get a lot of young kids, mostly girls, who want a good vampire book of their very own.Aside from the usual "Vampire State Building" and "Dracula Is a Pain In the Neck", both by Elizabeth Levy, there's really not a lot out there to recommend wholeheartedly. In fact, nine times out of ten, I find myself suggesting that most accessible of vampirism books, "Bunnicula".It doesn't star a human vampire, but you can hardly blame me.Now just this past week I found myself in the unenviable position of needing to find lots and lots and lots of copies of a single book for the upcoming meeting of my homeschooler bookgroup. And what delightful chapter book did I have enough copies in my library branch to satisfy screaming hoards of homeschooled kiddies?Again, it's "Bunnicula" to the rescue. It may not seem at first glance to have earned itself the moniker of "classic children's book", but I can attest right here and right now that when it comes to lifesaving go-to titles, I'll take "Bunnicula" over "Bridge To Terebithia" or "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret", any day.

5-0 out of 5 stars Apart from one scene scaring me, I loved this movie.
The first time I saw this movie, there was one scene which scared me; the scene where Mary's parents are dying from the plague (I think it was cholera?). The music they use for this can send chills down someone's back; I know because it did mine.
1-0 out of 5 stars Worset movie ever
I can't stand this movie, it's one of the worset.
1-0 out of 5 stars Great Story, Awful Acting.
While a wonderful story, this movie ruins it with two child actors who make the movie painful to watch.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Party is Not All Wet...Despite the Hose!
Amelia Bedelia is always a simple, fun and entertaining read!In this volume, we find Amelia and her cousin in charge of setting up a surprise wedding shower for a friend of her employer Mrs. Rogers. In typical Amelia Bedelia fashion, the literal meaning of the requests and orders given and the intended meaning are two different things entirely...it's always fun to watch kids register that the words in the story really do mean two different things (like filling a bowl with cut flowers...simple, yet taken literally, you get something entirely different from it...this is the joy of Parish's writing).Parish always does it with just the right amount of frivolity and light-hearted humor that it's impossible not to love Amelia Bedelia despite all the trouble she causes!I love the Amelia Bedelia series as a read aloud because it's so much fun, but the Amelia Bedelia series is also ideal for young readers, especially those just starting to read on their own! There are not a lot of words on each page, but what is there is easy to understand and conveyed succinctly and with humor and the illustrations are perfectly matched to the text (with a slightly old fashioned feel to them). You just can't go wrong with these books!

1-0 out of 5 stars Rain on the Parade
Wedding Shower! As soon as the word shower is mentioned, trust Amelia Bedelia, the world's most foolish maid to get out the hose and drench everybody. It's a wonder she was allowed anywhere near the party.

3-0 out of 5 stars Sweet Amelia Bedelia
I am not a huge fan of the books, but I do like to read about the things she does.It is quite humerous to read she does things literally.Quite genius of the writer to come up with such a wonderful and well-meaning character.I love the fact that Amelia Bedelia takes every situation in stride and does exactly as she is told.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What I thought of Surviving the Applewhites
This story is about a boy named Jake who has been kicked out of every school and sent to live with the Applewhite family, a family of artists who have their own homeschool. I really liked this book. It had a lot of fun twists, mixed into the plot. I thoug
