THIS BOOK HAS NO ILLUSTRATIONS!!!!
My daughter (for whom this book was purchased) was very disappointed that this book had no illustrations. Is this not a children's book??????????!?What were these publishers thinking?The first thing she said when we excitedly unboxed and opened up this book was, "Why aren't there any pictures?!?".Had I known this book were not child-friendly, I would not have wasted my money. I would have chosen another version.Just an FYI, since Amazon seems to be mixing reviews on here among various versions of books... this review is for ISBN# 0-517-20573-4. I bought this and other books based on reviews that were not relevent to the particular version of the book I purchased.I really would love to know which version the other reviewer who saw beautiful illustrations has!!! It was not this one.
Fairy Tales
This is a good book. It has has all the anderson fairy tales I've ever heard of. The drawings aren't the greatest. I'd say the book would be for a child under 8.

IT'S THE ILLUSTRATIONS
I think that most of us have been exposed to at least some of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales.If we haven't read them, we, of previous generations, have probably seen the movie of his life starring Danny Kaye, and any child who watches television has probably seen a Disney version of "The Ugly Duckling."Read more

Entertaining radio theatre
This review is related to the 4th volume of the Left Behind series of audio books.
The Adventures continue in volume 3
I am really enjoying the Left Behind: The Kids Live-Action audio series.Well-acted and every episode has captured my attention.As an adult, one of the reasons which drew me to the audio series is because LaHaye and Jenkins intertwines the Left Behind universe and its characters together, so if you are reading or listening to the audio series of Left Behind, I highly recommend listening to the Left Behind: The Kids for a little bit more in-depth coverage of recurring characters.

Helped my son to read
I had been given 2 of these books from a friend and I decided to see if there were anymore.My son loves this book.He's now working on reading the adult side.It's a great idea to have a page each, 1 for the adult and 1 for the child.We have several of these books now and I see my son sitting down and reading them on his own.

A delightful gem
Generally, I do not care for audio books; many of the readers speak in a dull voice that rapidly drives me either away from the story or to sleep.However, there are a few exceptions; this is one. A Wonderful Way To Read With Your Child
The format of this book and the others like them give a young reader a very enjoyable experience. The adult side helps to embellish the story but the children's side lets a new reader be part of the story not just alistener. An excellent and easily understood tool to teach kids!
This attractive, hardback book "Parables for Kids" is excellently written and illustrated. Not only the Biblical story, but a contemporary one is presented to allow the child to put today's events and places and things together with the concept the Bible teaches.I used this book to teach a couple of parables to a large group and it was well received.I am eager to buy additional books by these same 2 authors, Danae and James Dobson, daughter and dad.

Good for kids 1st grade - 5th grade
I am in charge of our church'schildren's church ages 4- 7. When I ordered this book the description said ages 4-8. When I got the book, it had long pages of text. I did not think that 4 0r even 5 year olds would sit still long enough to hear the story. I love the concept of the book, but I prefer shorter pages of text with illustrations that I can show the kids; or I think I will lose their attention. I do recommend it for ages 6 and up.

An excellent resource to teach difficult concepts to kids
I particularly enjoyed using the story of the Good Samaritan.The authors do an excellent job of telling a modern story followed by the Biblical story then tie the two together.The Good Samaritan brings home the meaning so very well for kids.I would recommend this book or cassette for Children's Church or for home Bible study.It would also be good for young homeschoolers. ... An inspirational book
