5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
I truely recomend this book. It was a great story about how a clone tried to take over the world. I think that the author had to open his mind to create such great advances.Great dialogue and descriptions of the settings. It tells about situations that now on we are facing. I think that the author should create a 7th book of this series. The ending means that the adventure continous.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Read!
A wonderful ending to a positively wonderful series!I loved it, and read it a couple times every year! The only problem with the book is the way it ends... as if there are even more books..Great charecters, good dialogue, good plot development.Must read!

5-0 out of 5 stars OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John Peel did an amazing job on this series, more importantly this book. The action, suspense, everything was amazing. He has his own unique view of the future, and he turned it into a book!! This was awesome!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful, fun to look at to improve your game
This is a good strategy guide, it really helps your game once you get into the tougher missions by helping you to find things you most likely would have never found without looking at this. I give it 4 stars because it would have been really worth the buy if it was in color, its hard to see the pictures, but aside from that, its a great guide for only 10 bucks. Really good to have if your new to the game and havent beaten the campaign yet.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Single Player Guide
This guide is excellent for getting through the single player campaign missions. The information about each race and their units is very detailed. It helped me through some tuff spots in the game and showed me more I can do than what I already knew. The only downside is the lack of multiplayer tips and tricks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Unneeded, but excellent nonetheless
Grading just on the basis of a guide, this book would have received 5 stars easily. The failing in this case is not in the guide, but in the game: Warcraft III is not sufficiently difficult to justify spending hard-earned money on a strategy guide. There are certain missions that one may get stuck on, but after trying again once or twice, most players should be able to figure out each mission's 'trick' strategy and beat it with relative ease. This applies even to hard mode, which, with the exception of a few missions late into the third and fourth campaigns, is not very hard at all.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars My high school AP students really did not like this book.
I am a math teacher who can program (not a programmer) and clearly the Litvins are experts. However, I have some terrific AP students (5's on the AP tests, 91% pass rate for over 6 years) and my kids really do not like the Litvin books, find them terribly confusing. We are trying out the Lewis Loftus book and liking it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Method for class Class extends Learning
Wow! What a great book for learning Java! Whether you are a beginner to computer programming, or migrating from another language, this book has so much for everybody. Every chapter ends with a summary and a variety of exercises to test yourself (or your students) on the topics presented. In addition, most chapters have at least one Lab and/or Case Study to extend your understanding and your programming skills. The book however is just the beginning. There are numerous Internet references for support, edification and enrichment as well as a terrific companion web site devoted to enhancing the book. The web site contains sample programs from the book, "student" activities, "teacher" solutions, information on Java compilers and IDE's, appendices, I/O classes, etc. As a high school APCS teacher I believe that this book will be an excellent choice for any high school level programming course. The Litvins gently take the new programmer by the hand and first walk them through samples of code just glancing at the details and eventually exposing the full breadth and power of Java. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars YOU CAN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This book is the best that I've ever read! Tristan, a naive person who is chained to his conscience and Genia, a streetpunk thief from the underworld are forced to work with a gang of crooks and Tristan's ex-girlfriend, Mora, who has become hard-hearted after living in the underworld. I could not put it down. I wasn't intrested in anything else but the book. Unlike Paul Jennings,Morris Gleitzman, and John Marsden where their six part stories seemed to repeat itself throughout the series, John Peel is original. Well worth your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars They can only survive the revolution....
No one can stop the ongoing revolution. Tristan and Genia, after a heart-stopping escape from Ice, must get onto business and save Earth from Tristan's devious clone Devon. Unfortunately, Tristan meets his betrayer. He discovers shocking things about why he was betrayed. But that doesn't make the fight for Earth any less serious. The world is one the brink of total destruction, and only Tristan , who is trying to gain the trust of Inspector Shimoda, can stop that.

5-0 out of 5 stars No time for disappointment!
This book was excellent! Genia finds herself warming up to Tristan. It's also revealed in this book that there are three clones in the universe that have been freed from their lab, where other clones remain, still in theirjars-- there's Jame Wilson, a young, 14-year-old that lives in Space, there's Tristan Connor, and Devon. Devon has a sick potential to take overthe world, and Quietus with that. This book concentrates on Tristan'sescape from Ice, and betrayal from Genia's own father. This book/series isrelated to Marilyn Kaye's "replica." There's also 12 clones, except the character's genders are different. This book isn't adisappointment--read it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!
This is one of the best books in the series! ... Tristan and Genia and Mora are trying to track down Devon, but are having some problems. Jame, the 3rd twin is in the thick of the revolution on Mars. Shimoda is getting closer to stopping Quietus once and for all. But Devon takes over the moon and now is holding the world hostage. Tristan, Genia, and Mora are running out of time. In the final book Earth's fate is in the balance. If you liked the first 4 books. You'll like this one!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Meltdown is coming.
What is probably the most disappointing book inthe 2099 series is still a book that readers will find difficult to put down, particularly because the plot races along with each passing chapter and the ultimate showdown grows closer... In 2099 #5: MELTDOWN the trouble for Tristan grows. He and Genia are trapped in a world so utterly close to its own destruction, a world in which meltdown is causing it to come to a shattering end. Is there anything they can do to stop the ultimate5-0 out of 5 stars Totally Awesome
John Peel is the best author! This book was just as incredible as the first 4!Hes not like most authors where after the first book it getsboring! They are all great!Anyone who hasn't read this series is a fool! If you liked Diadem you'll love 2099! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Guide Like No Other- Bradygames' Best
About two or three years ago, I bought Mario RPG used without the manual. Then I got this Book. This book is the Bible of Mario RPG players' Guides. The strategies are excellent, The detailed descriptions of the areas and characters (although the Bestiary is a little off) in the game are as useful as they get, and it outshines even Nintendo's official player's guide in terms of usefulness. Although yes, it is in black and white as one fellow reviewer said, this small fault is nothing compared to the sheer volume of information contained in this book. If you only buy one player's guide for this game, let this be the one. It'll be the ONLY one you'll ever need.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Super Mario RPG guide
This is such a cool guide.I love it so much.So good with boss strategies, all the strategies and helps you out a lot.I still play the SNES but this the best of the super mario RPG guides.Even if it is B&W the only thing that doesn't make sense is the Bestiary it isn't complete but anyways it don't matter, if you follow the walkthrough it gets you through the game more then Nintendo powers guide did for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good.
I learned a ton, and I really enjoyed beating the game with the guide! I'm going to try to beat the game without the guide. =^P! ... Read more

Editorial Review

"Our lips met... I felt a few stray whiskers... and suddenly I realized that this was a grown man who was giving me my first real kiss... Something inside me snapped. Now I didn't want this at all. But I couldn't speak." Fourteen-year-old Katherine Tarbox wasn't sure how things had gone so wrong. She had planned to slip away during a school trip to meet 27-year-old Mark, whom she had corresponded with on the Internet for the last six months. Instead, she discovered that "Mark" was actually Frank Kufrovich, a man in his forties with a history of pedophilia. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't support this greedy publisher's tricks
Regardless of the content of this book, the publisher Penguin has deliberately 'hijacked' the katie.com domain from its legitimate UK owner - Mrs Katie Jones.
5-0 out of 5 stars Katie.com
Katie.com was a very good book in my opinion. I think that Katherine Tarbox was very brave for writing about the troubles she experienced when she was younger. I don't know many people that would be brave enough to do that. Me, personally, I would be too afraid. She took on her situation full speed ahead. Instead of dwelling in the past she moved on. She moved on to become a wonderful author and possibly a role model for young girls everywhere. Yes it is bad that she had to experience such a truamatic event, but in a way it just made her a stronger individual. She can know look back at what happened to herself and think, "I've been through that. I made it and just look at me now." Seriously though, many people would just stay in a little whole and not come out for the rest of their lives. Those people are not cowards, they are just afraid that they will be judged for their actions. Katie was judged yes, but she proved to those people judging her that she wasn't afraid of them or the person that helped bring her up to point of her life.

5-0 out of 5 stars Katie.com
I know there are a lot of negative comments about this book, but I personally loved it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed...
Okay, firstly, I'm a little late on the GTA:VC thing. Only just bought the PC version in November 2004. At any rate, after being faced with the myriad of possibilities within the game, and the challenges that the many missions and rampages introduced, I opted to purchase the game guide to help me along to the coveted 100% completion.

4-0 out of 5 stars a great text
I found this to be a good introductory textbook for a middle/high school age food and nutrition class. The text covers a wide range of topics related to food. One finds chapters on healthy eating and lifestyle, being a vegitarian, how to design a kitchen, and food profiles from around the world.Other chapters even discuss eating etiquette, buying food, and careers in food. The text starts with the basics (this is a whisk...) for the kitchen and for food. One is given profiles of food, nutritional information, and cooking ideas. While it may seem too basic for students who have some knowledge of cooking, it does a good job of introducing it to those who have to knowledge of it at all.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Too Basic for the medium to advanced reader
While this book was informative it appeared to be written to a grade school level and was too high level for my taste. If you want a basic taste of what Steve Jobs is about this will not satisfy your appetite.I would suggest other options. However, if you are looking to pass a good book on to your child to read to get an understanding of this individual this may be successful. Not sure.

5-0 out of 5 stars Steve Jobs an Original Life
Suzan Wilson's book, Steve Jobs, Wizard of Apple Computer is an amazing read about an amazingly original man. Ms. Wilson's book tells Steve Jobs story in a most readable writing style. The reader is constantlymade aware of Mr. Jobs climb from early teenage rebel to successful computer inventor. This finely researched book is an excellent read and would be a great addition to eveyone's library. Especially those of us- all of us who have computers! Buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Jobs rocks the party that rocks the body
