5-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
What an amazing, thorough, comphrensive guide to everything Star Wars.NOTHING is left out.You get not only in depth profiles of every major character, but every OTHER character in the universe. It's so detailed that they break down each PART of each weapon, ship, etc.For someone like myself who isn't the biggest Star Wars geek (but wanting to learn more), this is a godsend. There are many, many, hardcore fans out there that can reference almost anything and anyone to do with Star Wars.Well, now you can too, and you don't have to see the films 3245 times to do it.

1-0 out of 5 stars More Freek show stories.
Taking a line from his cancelled and poorly shown movie, Whedon and the Hacks at Dark Horse deliver up this rubbish, which is just that, Rubbish.

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect filler between TV series and movie
Quick admission: I'm a huge fan of the Firefly TV series and "Serenity".I think both were horribly underappreciated, and can't understand why they weren't more successful.
5-0 out of 5 stars Serenity, an under-sold epic
While it is a little inconvenient to have to jump from a television series (thanks Joss Whedon and crew and cast, untimely cancelled, bad judgment Fox) to movie (thanks Universal) to comic book (thanks Dark Horse), it is rewarding to see more of the story accessible to Firefly/Serenity fans.It is amazing how few fans actually saw the series on television or the movie but became big fans from DVD sales. This is a story that touches the heroic, underdog spark in all of us.The comic book was appreciated for connecting the series to the movie and for explaining a couple of missing elements such as what happened to the blue hands guys. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp Looking Book
My daughter has loved Thomas since she was about a year old (she's 3 now) and this was a great present because A) She LOVES anything Thomas, B) She wants to read this book all the time and C) It seems to have sparked a love for books.
5-0 out of 5 stars great Thomas collection
My son is a large Thomas fan. he first knew Thomas just from the trains, then he saw the show. Since he loves to read I wanted to combine 2 of his favorite things. This book did just that. It's a nice hardcover edition with enough Thomas stories to keep anyone entertained for a long time. There are nice pictures and an attached bookmark for him to keep track of his place. Highly recommend

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Pleasant Surprise
My adorable 2-1/2 year old grandson just loves Thomas The Train. However, his Nana (me) doesn't have a clue.So not to be ignorant, I ordered this book and was thrilled to see the wonderful illustrations as well as finding it to be a "story collection" about all the different trains. My grandson actually named all the different trains (how he does this I do not know), and I could verify that he was correct by reading the stories. The book is kept at Nana's house and Braden looks forward to reading it every time he comes for a visit. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in this book.It would make a wonderful gift! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AN EYE OPENER

5-0 out of 5 stars THOMAS PROVES WHY HE IS THE CONAN EXPERT
On the back dust jacket, former Editor-in-Chief Tom DeFalco refers to Roy Thomas as the world renowned expert on Conan the Barbarian and it's hard to argue that claim.Outside of Robert E. Howard himself, no one knows Conan like Roy Thomas...and Roy wrote about him for far longer than Howard to boot!I still remember the first Conan comic I ever read.It was issue #42 in 1974 and the cover showed Conan battling a gargoyle in mid air.I quickly became a huge Conan fan.And now DK books have released this absolutely gorgeous over-sized hardcover book, "Conan-The Ultimate Guide to the World's Most Savage Barbarian" written by Roy Thomas.
5-0 out of 5 stars A letter to Roy Thomas..
First off, EXCELLENT book. Now I think it's time you picked up where Robert E. Howard started, L. Sprague DeCamp and Lin Carter continued, and now YOU MUST FINISH. ONE MORE STORY, is all I (And maybe a million more fans) ask. It's time to take off from where" 'Conan Of The Isles' left off. You ARE the ONLY AUTHORITY LEFT ALIVE. Please consider this, as I have been reading Conan since I was 13.(Now 35) Thanks!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Ignore all other reviews!
I beleive that the other reviews were written by furious begginer artists whom had tried a few times and were uspset with their results. It takes time to learn how to draw and drawing simple shapes such s circles is not as easy as it is made out to be! I don't think this book could be made any simpler and is perfect for the begginer.

I have been reading this series from the beginnig. books and comics I love the cone wars books/Comics. I am also enjoy in legacy of the force book series witch I am reading #2 as well as Legcy comic series. Anothe comic series I am eager to read is the dark times coming in october witch acts as a sequal to one of the stoies presrnted herw as well as dark lord witch you should also read. enjoy this series.

5-0 out of 5 stars The end . . . and new beginnings
Endgame is a denouement, a figurative and literal cleaning up and sorting out, the final chapter in Dark Horse's Clone Wars series. That doesn't mean there's nothing but talking heads and exposition. On the contrary, there's plenty of action in three stories about choice and consequence. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, but only as a companion piece....
Like many, I am not a huge Star Wars geek.I've seen (and own) all of the films, but couldn't tell you half of the characters names, or get into a deep, nerdy converstation about them. However, I want to learn, so I picked this book up (after giving it a quick thumb through) assuming that it would be a Star Wars encyclopedia of sorts.
3-0 out of 5 stars Binding mistakes
The contents were good, but 12 pages (pages 109-120)are binded reversed i.e. upside down and backwards.Poor quality control at the printer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in Quality of Binding
As a parent of 3 boys who love Star Wars, we are constantly purchasing books. We have always purchased them at Borders (or stores of the like). This was the first time I purchased a book on-line thru Amazon.Within ONE MONTH the binding came unglued. This has never occured with any of the other Star Wars books we've purchased. My boys are very protective of their books and take care of them.We now have a book with the hard-cover off and I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and due to this do not plan on purchasing online thru Amazon if this is the quality I am to expect in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
My wife and I were always interested in the worlds/locations that were visited briefly in the movies, and now we have the abiltiy to read about them in more detail and to see them in more detail!Love the book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Growing up on Fried worms
Of all the books I have read in school (required and for pleasure) the one book that I remember reading and consider to be trademark of my youth was How to Eat Fried Worms.
5-0 out of 5 stars Haha, I remember this.
When I was in elementary school, I remember reading this book. It's stomach-turning but it definitely appealed to me when I was younger. I highly reccomend it for kids.

4-0 out of 5 stars DANiELLE'S REViEW
How To Eat Fried Worms?! Ewww!! Doesn't that sound disgusting! This was a great book that was very interseting and humorous. This book is about a boy who is dared to eat worms for a certain amount of money. Some of his friends who dared him to eat the worms took him to a carnival and tried to brain-wash him. If they got him to forget about the worms before 12'o clockhe would have to pay his friends money for not doing it. the boy comes home and his mom wakes him up and says ''Dont you have to eat two worms?'' The boy autimatIcally ran down into the back yard and ate two worms before 12'o clock. So the story goes on very adventureous. I reccomend this book because it is fun, exciting, mysterious, and awesome! That is why you should read this book. ... Read more

This is a gorgeous, imaginative picture book, beautifully produced and packaged by Candlewick Press and Laika, thatincludes a dvd of the award-winning short feature of the same name. 5-0 out of 5 stars A great distraction
We got this for our 2 and 1/2 year old for our trip to Disney World.Any time we had a long wait (the parade especially) we whipped it out for her to amuse herself. Not only did she love it, but every little girl who could see it quickly gathered to stare longingly at it.Now that we are home, she plays with it every day.My only problem with is that since there are so many SMALL accessories (shoes, necklaces etc...) they are very easy to lose.So you have to keep an eye for glass slippers when you vacuum.Otherwise, I would say this is our best "Princess" purchase yet.

4-0 out of 5 stars good for independent play
My daughter really likes this and so do I because she can play by herself. The only thing I don't like is that the vinyl stickers don't seem to 'stick' very well and it frustrates my 3 year old.Otherwise, a great buy!

3-0 out of 5 stars Artwork's Better, Story's Okay, But Overall: Still Lacking
This out of print and ultra-rare graphic novel, 'Tales of the Jedi: Redemption', is in my opinion a step forward from the previous 'Tales of the Jedi' (TOTJ from here on) storylines/graphic novels in terms of artwork. Actually, a step forward is incorrect: the artwork has progressed by leaps and bounds! However, as is usual with Star Wars, the storyline is the same ol', same ol' with little to offer readers and newcomers (although SW nuts and fanatics would eat this up, or anything George Lucas does for that matter).
5-0 out of 5 stars A great book and a fitting end to a great series!
This interesting book is the final book in the Knights of the Old Republic series. The series is a collection of graphic novels that takes the reader to the Old Republic, thousands of years before the events of The Phantom Menace.
2-0 out of 5 stars good art
this features the best looking art in the tales of the jedi dark horse books, but like the others the story isn't really that great. blah ... Read more

This is a cute collection of Dora Stories.Just short enough to keep my 3 yr olds attention as we read a few stories at bedtime. He loves doing the actions along with Dora and helping to figure things out. There are enough stories that I am not tired of them yet!I recommend this book for any kid that loves Dora the Explorer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Dora Fans!
My daughter loves Dora, so I thought this collection would be a good buy.She enjoys all of the stories, and as a non-spanish speaker I find the pronounciation guide in the back helpful for the spanish words included in the collection.

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Story
I was starting to wonder if they were ever going to wrap up Voss' story. I found it very compelling and great continuity. I was waiting for the payoff on the Vos story line. I also like how it leaves the future open for more of his story. The story arc ended nicely. I would recommend this especially at the low price of Amazon. Worth the read!

4-0 out of 5 stars Clone Wars Vol. 8
To pewface this review, the Vos story line has intrested me, but never really captured me. I liked the idea of having a Jedi who was so close to the dark side, that he was endangered to losing it all. And Vos is a perect example. In previous Volumes it has never been clear where he stood, and this volume resolves it. I was always more intrested in Obi Wan and Anakin, but the conclusion of Vos was a good one.
5-0 out of 5 stars An answer for N. Wells...
N. Wells at the end of his review said "I hear there is a 9th volume coming out, not sure how much more there is to tell in this series though."

Editorial Review

Gerald the giraffe doesn't really have delusions of grandeur. He justwants to dance. But his knees are crooked and his legs are thin, and all theother animals mock him when he approaches the dance floor at the annual JungleDance. "Hey, look at clumsy Gerald," they sneer. "Oh, Gerald, you're so weird."Poor Gerald slinks away as the chimps cha-cha, rhinos rock 'n' roll, andwarthogs waltz. But an encouraging word from an unlikely source shows this glumgiraffe that those who are different "just need a different song," and soon heis prancing and sashaying and boogying to moon music (with a cricketaccompanist). 5-0 out of 5 stars GERALD GETS HIS GROOVE ON
My 3 year daughter received this book as a birthday gift. Almost a year later, it is still her favorite (and mine as well!). The story is cute, funny and endearing. There is also some good lessons taught. Overall, a real feel good story. And the illustrations are just beautiful.
5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!
This book is a wonderful story about how each of us has a place in this world and a unique way of living into that place, IF we can only find the right music to live by (or dance by in Gerald's case)!Great for use with children AND with adults!Enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is my favorite childrens book
We were given this book while my daughter was in the NICU. We read it to her at least once a day and we never tired of it. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, it is well written, and it has a wonderful message. This is one of the few books that we still read to her today from the NICU. ... Read more
