5-0 out of 5 stars Not only for kids
Although in cartoons, as is happening to me, in my journey to financial freedom I need my wife to support me (sometimes there will be things most people won't get if they haven't read Kiyosaki before), and specially if your wife doesn't read this kind of literature, buy this book...for her! In less than an hour you'llunderstand the main message from Kiyosaki.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rich Dad broke the code.
I ordered this book with a skeptical outlook. The other financial instruction books I purchased for my teen lasted all of ten minutes. This book arrived, she opened it, started reading, and didn't put it down until finished. She was so excited, she called me at work to tell me she had learned about assets, liabilities, expenses, and income. She said the concepts were so simple, she didn't understand why they aren'tteaching this in school. Now, she's pointing out investments to me!Rich Dad actually got the attention and respect of a teenager.I'm very impressed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Help Your Kids Save Their Pennies
This is a children's comic book that presents kids with the information that goes way beyond"Save your pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves." There are also subtle lessons on values and ethics, too. It shows--pictorially, using two different styles--how a youngster can put the concepts they represent immediately to work. The book goes well beyond the "save your pennies" philosophy I was raised on. The book introduces terms that some kids never hear until they take their first economics class. I liked the presentation stylethat looks vaguely like a Tim Allen movie--artistic washes, subtle tones. Kids will love the brightly colored segments. More importantly--for the parents at least--they are sure to absorb some sound ideas about ensuring their own futures. The purpose of the book is clear: the sooner you learn to manage your money, the more you'll have to enjoy.

5-0 out of 5 stars wish i had this when I was young
Clear, concise explanation of our financial systems. Great tool to introduce kids to having control over their resoures.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is helpful and useful
Let me explain to everyone who says otherwise, the point of this book was NOT to make children think that stock marketing was the only way to get money. No, the book was just trying to teach children about stock marketing so they could understand it and could possibly use it no or when they get older. I think the book had great details and explained the stock market very accurately.

5-0 out of 5 stars A superior and highly recommended introductory guide
Gail Karlitz's Growing Money: A Complete Investing Guide For Kids is an exceptional investing guide in that it is written specifically to teach children (and adults!) how to make their money work for them. Covering savings in a bank, bods, stocks, and how to read the financial pages, Growing Money is a superb guide - and since it's written simply enough for a young person to learn from, it also makes excellent starter reading for adults who have never dabbled in investing before. The prose text is in large type and very straightforward, but does not talk down to the reader. Growing Money is a superior and highly recommended introductory guide, especially for the young people growing up in this brand new era of electronically transmitted investment capital. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars More emphasis need on education, being formal or financial
The author, while he does suggest education is important, does not stress it - he suggests advanced education is important only if you are entering into a professional career.(Read the introduction to see what I mean) - You may want to speak to the your children on that, I felt a bit uncomfortable knowing that's what my chilren would be reading.
4-0 out of 5 stars Still worth reading...offers good teen-friendly advice on achieving a financial headstart & freedom!
Despite the controversy surrounding the author, Robert Kiyosaki, I strongly feel that this particular book is still worth reading by teens, as it offers good teen-friendly advice on achieving financial headstart & freedom.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Way to Enjoy Finance & Economics
This books gives the true value of savings: a life worth dreamings about and investments we make for it to see it happen. This is a sweet and funny little book that makes money look exciting as a tool and token. I see this book as the clues to playing a cool video game. (More, like the hint book.) It's so casual that you think your reading Reader's Digest. You never feel confused! Math teacher's, parents, middle schoolers, high school students, college students, retirees: you'll love this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yes, a good money book for teens, but the voice is annoying.
This book will basically focus on the way the stock market works and how to invest in it. It also tells you how much you can save in the future. It is the meat of the book when it comes to the stock market, but the book will also teach you the cost of bad habits such as smoking and the upsides of credit cards if used right. The book teaches you how to get your money's worth in the bank, teaching you everything from how they make money to what a cd is. The worst thing about this book that annoyed me so much, I took off a point, was that they try to write the book in a type of slang format. Going from saying the word dawg and writing rock lyrics about the book. This is very annoying, but the tips this book gives are just too valuble to detour you alway.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great intro financial / investing book for **everyone**
I only skimmed this book (after all, I own almost all the other TMF books!), but I think this book is by far one of the best financial books for **any** new investor, regardless of age. While other books may have more content, this is one of the most approachable financial and investing books I've read. (Plus, its worksheets **force** you practice what you read!) Readable by adults, too! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A genuine story
Ernie comes upon another money making sceme. With the help of Dusty, someone to decorate the "coffins", Tony, the hole digger, and Swimming Pool, a tomboy who can cry on cue, they start a great business for pet funerals. This story is full of exitement and suspense when some things go wrong for the team of four.A great book....I have read it a lot!!

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm 42 and I Loved It!
My daughter has a list of books to read for a type of competition in her school.I order them for her at the library and she reads them.Every once in awhile I pick one up and read it to be sure they have decent content, etc. This one just looked good to me from reading the back cover and also the illustration.I read it and laughed and laughed. It was very enjoyable. It had serious moments in the book that helped round out what was happening in the story. It was well written.I would have to say that the author, although writing this for children, put in things that adults would chuckle over and enjoy; things you would understand if you watch old black and white movies. It's so enjoyable that I ordered a copy for our family to own.We have 8 children and I think all of them will enjoy this one!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Beloved Dearly
The Beloved Dearly is about 4 kids that start funerals for pets.Pet owners give them money and their dead pet for a funeral. The best part about this book is that one of the kid's names is Swimming Pool and she is very emotional during the funerals. This story is very humorous and is great to read.It will make you laugh. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Practice tests are lacking
When compared to the Princtons review book, I found that the tests in the Barrons book were too easy. The rest of the book is well laid ou though and explanations are clear and concise.I took the micro and macro tests in may 06 and got 5s on both. But this was mostly because of the princeton book & going online to the ap website.

5-0 out of 5 stars Geared for...
I was shopping at Von Maur when I saw these cute slipper socks with ducks on them around christmas, so I picked them up and felt how soft they were, boy were they soft, then my eye scanned the table... lip gloss, more slipper socks, babysitters guide, eureka!!! I've seen this book and always wanted it. I got the duck slippers and the Babysitters kit that day. It is mostly helpful to beginners but there is some vital information for more advanced sitters also. Part of the reason I go this was because our very close family friends were adopting a baby from south korea, who was two in october of '05. He is the best-natured toddler I know. Trust me I know a lot! He is so so so cute!!!!! ANyways... It helped me start my blooming buisness, so much that I even babysat for two of my old teachers all the time!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for my 11 year old niece
I bought this for my 11 year old niece because we were going to be bringing home a baby and she wanted to start baby sitting.I feel 11 is too young to baby sit, but it is a perfect age to be a mother's helper. So she is studying and training and I think this will help her.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Babysitting Book Ever!!!
This book is so helpful! I say the reveiw "Sugar, Spice, and NOT Everything Nice," and I was dissapointed. I thought "We can not be talking about the same book!" This book is SO helpful. I used it when I first started babysitting and now everyone on my block asks me to babysit. This book shows how to change a baby, what do do in an emergency, what to do if you get scared while babysitting, small easy to make snacks to make, and so much more! Please get this for your child if they are planning to babysit. It even shows what to do if someone is trying to get into the house your babysitting in. GET THIS BOOK! It's so totally rocks! It is a book that kids and parents have to love! ... Read more

I strongly think you should read this book because it is funny. 5-0 out of 5 stars Even better than "Economics In One Lesson"
I think this is the best book out there to help quickly spread a basic understanding of economics and therefore how the world works. The knowledge and importance per page ratio is the highest I have ever read. Even better than Harry Browne's intro to economics from his famous first 80 pages of "How you can profit from the coming devaluation" .
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book on Money and Inflation
The great thing about this book is that it's a great explanation of inflation. The bad thing about this book is it's a great explanation of inflation.Yes, I said the same thing twice.
5-0 out of 5 stars What every American Needs to know

5-0 out of 5 stars money matters
A great basic book for any age. Wish I'd had it 30 years ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars The things kids say, and why we should listen to them!
This is one of the great personal finance books of all time. So often, money managment books are written by wealthy people, so we can make them wealthier by trying to emulate them. Now come an eleven-year-old, wise beyond years to show us how to be comfortable, secure, and childlike, trusting ourselves, as we play the game of making money work for us.This is a definite "need to read" book ... 1-0 out of 5 stars There are much better books out there
Hmmm....if you're a member of the conservative Christian right you might like this one. However, I highly recommend "Capitate Your Kids" for a great guide to teaching your teen to be financially frugal and smart.

5-0 out of 5 stars Money Matters Gets a 5 Star Rating......
Good tool for teaching both Christian & Non Christian Teens about money.Easy to understand, includes examples and step by step instructions. We used this for a Money Matters Workshop and our teens thought it was great.

3-0 out of 5 stars This is a religious based book
I think it is important to point out a fact that Amazon leaves off in their description of the book. The author, Larry Burkett, is the founder and president of Christian Financial Concepts, Inc., a ministry dedicated to teaching God's principles for financial management.
