5-0 out of 5 stars Jackson Jones and Mission Greentop
Jackson loves basketball! He wants to play basketball all summer, although he can't.His mother got him a plot in a garden. He works with his plants there. He doesn't like it.He starts working there so much he gradually comes to like it.Then he gets a phone call telling him the garden is going to be plowed up.Jackson wants to prevent it.Will he?The reader will be very surprised by what he does.I liked this book very much!I hope Ms. Quattlebaum writes a sequel to this book!
5-0 out of 5 stars Best book I've read this summer!
I am eleven years old and "Jackson Jones and Mission Greentop" was the best book I read this summer! I like the part when Jackson finally got Blood Green, the bully. I also like the part when Jackson goes down to the company to talk with the boss! The most interesting thing was when I found out who the boss was....

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing text with incredible illustrations
Despite the ambitious title of this book, the projects found inside, ranging from planting a terrarium to creating a Japanese rock garden, are a bit lacking. The reader is given only the most vague growing information without any scientific background or general gardening knowledge. The author, in fact, recommends that the reader seek out books on roses for her Rose Garden project! While flowers and herbs are included in the book's projects, vegetables are completely overlooked. However, the illustrations are absolutely beautiful, very Victorian in nature, and are inspirational in their sheer floriferous-ness. Although this is not a "one stop shop" book, the basic project ideas combined with the illustrations, may provide a very beginning young gardener with some incentives to get growing! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars darling little board book
This is a sweet gently little book that your children will love.

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of money
I recently ordered Pat the Bunny In the Garden Board Book for my daughter. She had the paper editions of Pat the Bunny, Pat the Cat and Pat the Puppy and has enjoyed them so much they are tattered. When I saw the In the Garden edition I thought it would be a perfect addition to her library. We live in Germany so I must order all books off of the internet and do not have an opportunity to look at them before I make a purchase. Needless to say I was more than disappointed when the book arrived. As it states on the back cover of the book "Pat the Bunny is recognized as the most important first book for baby's early development. Its unique interactive and sensory approach helps stimulate a baby's developing mind." The only thing interactive about this book is the first page with the bunny fur. There is absolutely no other type of interactive stimulation in this book. The makers of this book have taken advantage of the popularity of Pat the Bunny in order to make a profit on a newer product that does not even attempt to live up to the claims made on the back cover. This is a pathetic excuse of "a unique interactive and sensory approach".The story itself is nice but to pass it off under the name of Pat the Bunny just for the recognition factor is inexcusable. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Pumpkins
Up close and detailed look at the growth of a pumpkin from seed germination to its use after harvest. The text is clearly written and well researched. Beyond the obvious, concepts such as seed leaves, root hairs, and what happens to a flower that isn't pollinated are included. Excellent photographs and a labeled illustration. The photographs could be improved with captions. There is a glossary, index, and one page photo recap of the pumpkin life cycle. Karen Woodworth Roman, Children's Science Book Review ... Read more
