5-0 out of 5 stars What a Blast!!!
We did these puzzles with our two older children. What a blast!I would have liked a little more variety, but the puzzles provided a good challenge. This book is worth the money.

3-0 out of 5 stars cool
This was a fun collection for a short while, but too many of the puzzles were based on the same theme and it became boring.Otherwise, it was a welcomed challenge.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fun
Enjoy logic puzzles written with a comic edge. They increase in difficulty as the book goes along, but none are impossible.Recommended for anyone who enjoys doing logic puzzles. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Where is Baby's Mommy?
My 20-month daughter absolutely loves this book. Lifting all the flaps and being suprised everytime to see what is behind them. Always when she finds the Mommy I say " There's mommy" she looks at me with her big brown eyes and says "NO" and points to me and says "Mommy". The book is absolutely ADORABLE.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my two-year old!!!
Hide and seek is his favorite game so this book is perfect. With every flap he says, "Noooooo" and gleefully "YES!" on the last page. And mommy is hiding under the blanket, which is his favorite place to hide (or for me to hide)! It is our favorite out of all the Katz books!

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is fantastic!
My year old daughter picks this book out for us to read every day.Usually we read it at least five times a day!She loves the flaps and gets excited everytime we flip one up.I recommend any titles by Karen Katz, she loves them all! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Investment to Get Started
My 4.5 year old knew his numbers, but when I saw the inside of this book on amazon, I realized that I have not used any technique to build his basics in counting etc., and bought this book
4-0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth the investment, but ...
I would highly recommend any of the kumon books, because they are very well done. The first 20 pages of this book were number tracings. Then it went to writing numbers by copying the numbers from very small text to writing them from memorization. This was too big of a jump for my son who had just turned 5.So we took a break and did the Uppercase book. Then we did the "review" part of the Simple addition book. Then we went back to this book and my son was able to continue just fine.I loved the book, but there should really be a whole book dedicated to tracing numbers, before requiring the child to write numbers from memory. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for kids!
This is a fabulous book on autism acceptance. This is great for teachers or parents that want their kids to better understand someone that is "different" than the others. It is well written and really presents a creative way of introducing Autism and other spectrum disorders to kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have.
I purchased this book after reading the reviews. Our seven year old son is on the Autism Spectrum and his daycare friends had lots of questions about his behaviors and his limited language skills.I brought this book in for the teacher to read. The comment from the teacher was "They got it."

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best book for Kids to Understand
I bought this book for my sons K-1 class. The book explains what autism is on a level for young children to understand and the kids loved the coloring aspect of it. His teacher loved the adult explainations of each page. My 8 year old borrowed the book to read to his 2nd grade class so that they could understand his brother! I read this book to my Introdution to Early Childhood class and my teacher agreed, this book should be purchased. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone whose child is going into a different learning environment. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars good
I love transformers and this book bigng me good memories, is a good book.
4-0 out of 5 stars NOT QUITE ULTIMATE BUT STILL VERY GOOD.
Over twenty years after arriving on American soil the Transformers continue to be one of the most popular toy lines. But more than just a toy line, with some dozen different animated series counting both in the states and in Japan, as well as multiple comic book series, the Transformers also has a rich and colorful history. The Transformers Ultimate Guide covers the toys, comics, and animated shows in this 144 page book that begins with a history of Cyberton and the eons long battle between Primus & Unicron, the light and dark side of the same coin. The book is written by long time Transformers writer Simon Furman. We'll learn of the very first Transformer named Prima, and the civil war on Cybertron, led by Megatron against the unsuspecting Autobots.Sentinel Prime was the first Autobot leader and would be killed by Megatron, and pass on the Matrix to the Transformer who become known as Optimus Prime.A timeline traces the Autobot/Decepticon war right up and including their eventual crash on Earth millions of years ago.
5-0 out of 5 stars Robots in Disguise
I was skeptical that this book could deliver, but on opening the cover was immediately drawn in by its graphic spreads and the marriage of art and type. No one could hope to chronicle the multifarious incarnations of Takara's transforming toys; but someone has. No one could untangle all the plot threads weaving through the saga of Cybertron; but someone did. No one could possibly provide an engrossing account of Hasbro's marketing variations or its Sunbow division's many animated series; no one except Furman, himself an astute observer and able author of Transformer comics.

5-0 out of 5 stars Two thumbprints up for this book!
Love this little book! My 3 year old son hasmade pictures with his fingerprints at his preschool. This isa great way for children to express themselves by making their fingerprints into any number of little animal or other creatures. I bought this book for us to make projects with at home. I thought it would be great for his little thank you notes to relatives. My son loves this book. If you decide to buy this book, you will not be dissapointed. I also enjoyed using this myself as an adult.

4-0 out of 5 stars A GOOD STARTING PLACE FOR KIDS TO DRAW
I purchased this book to use in two art camps. One was focused on printmaking and the other on cartooning.Once students open the book they were eager to try out the fingerprint illustrations and began looking for particular animals they wanted to illustrate. The book is colorful and appealing and provides a good starting place for kids to draw with ready success 'at their fingertips.' The only problem we encountered was the need for fine line marker for details as their fingerprints are small and their drawings were less successful if the marker they used was too thick or bled.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 5 yo daughter LOVED this book.
We gave my 5 yo daughter this book, some washable kid's ink pads and a sketchbook this weekend for her 5th birthday. She LOVES it.She drew some pretty amazing pictures last night with just a little help to work through the steps.I'm sure she'll be creating masterpieces all on her own in no time!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for learning
Our son started "playing" with these when he was 9 months old. They are just beautiful as other reviews say and they have helped our son learn his animals. He spends endless amounts of time sorting through them, looking at them (he loves the pictures) and carrying them around the house. Now at 15 months he can pick some of the animals out the pile and bring them to you when you ask.Since he's learning both spanish and english if you ask for the horse in either language he will sort through them until he finds it and then bring it to you (very proudly I might add).He would not have learned this much about animals without these cards!Well worth the $10.

5-0 out of 5 stars beautiful pictures
The pictures are gorgeous. The cards are large enough for little hands to handle easily and sturdy enough to resist bending. My 2.5 y/o son got around that, of course, by dropping them on the floor and prancing around on them.He loves to name the animals on the cards and does his little dance on them each time he is finished. They held up well and are only slightly bent here and there.Definitely a good investment.

4-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Pictures!
The cover does not do these flash cards justice. The pictures are absolutely beautiful. The cards are very sturdy & hold up well to little hands. The kids love naming the animals and are happy looking through these on their own.Only drawback - they get spread out all over.It would be great if they were on a binder ring! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Relaxing, Effective, Excellent Resource for Parents and Educators
First I will begin by listing the programs/CD's/books that I have purchased from Lite Books.4 books:A Boy and a Bear, The Affirmation Web, A Boy and a Turtle and The Goodnight Caterpillar plus 5 audio CDs:Indigo Dreams, Indigo Ocean Dreams, Indigo Dreams: Garden of Wellness, Indigo Teen Dreams and Indigo Dreams: Adult Relaxationplus:Children's Stress Awareness Curriculum Designed for Youth Education.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Boy and a Bear: The Children's Relaxation Book
We have several of Lori Lites' book and the Indigo dreams CD, and like them all but this by far my challenging son's favorite. My husband read the story the first few times, and my son did like the story, but did not get much from it.I realized that DH did not really understand the importance of using a very calm, soothing voice (it can be hard to find it with an oppositional child). So, I asked DH to simply flip pages with the CD going. They both got so relaxed they fell asleep.I will say I have some practice at mediation but I am no expert. I took a turn with as I had read the story and thought it would help if we could get him to participate. I started reading it and got so into it that almost forgot I was reading it to someone. Wow!I was floored when he began to spontaneously breath rhythmically with me.He was so centered and peaceful for the next couple of days. It was one of the most rewarding moments I have had with him.Since then, Mommy reads the story to him.Is a cure all? No way, but if, you enjoy meditation and rhythmic breathing, and do the work for yourself in the book, you may just find that your child comes along for the ride.

1-0 out of 5 stars take advantage of parents
This is the second time I ordered a book to try and help my children with their OCD and have received a paper thin book that was completely over priced. I believe that they are taking advantage of the fact, that as parents, we try to do all we can to fix medical problems that are out of our control. I would go to the ends of the earth if I could help my childrens feel better, but I don't like it when someone takes advantage of the situation. I won't buy a book that I haven't picked up and looked at before hand anymore. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story
This book is simply a delight! I bought it for my granddaughter who is 9 months. She loves for me to read it to her. We just love it!!

2-0 out of 5 stars The story behind the story is more interesting
This book is simply not that great. The rubber ducky sound at the end is cute but nothing to applaud. The art is borderline awful and, while the story behind the story is cute, it just did not come out great as a children's book. I must confess, I am not an Eric Carle fan though, with the exception of The Very Busy Spider, which I enjoyed. To put it simply, don't bother. The two redeeming qualities of this book are 1) it teaches counting well (the first rubber duck, the second rubber duck) and it exposes the kids to animals you do not see every day (octupus, flamingo, pelican).

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book for Emergent Readers
As an Early Childhood professional I am always looking for goods books rich in language, story and pictures. This book is one of Eric Carle's best books.I am a teacher/owner of Oceanside Pre-Kindergarten a unique Literacy based program to help children prepare for Kindergarten in today's intense learning environment in formal education.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great inspiration for a LEGO fan
This book is a little on the thin side, but it is a beautiful, colorful book stuffed with color photos. If you are a LEGO fan, or even just moderately interested in the LEGO hobby I think you'll find this book fascinating. It starts off with a little history of the LEGO company and products, followed by a tour of the main facilities. Then the real fun starts. Sets, themes, and models and some of the creative processes behind the different products. There are lots of pictures to draw inspiration for building your own models. As an admittedly slightly obsessed fan, I have had this book for around two years and can still stare enraptured at the pictures. Anyway, moving on, the book closes with a few pages looking at the LEGOland parks and models built by professional LEGO master builders. A great book for anyone looking for LEGO inspiration, or anyone who appreciates seeing other peoples' creativity. I gave it four out of five stars. If the book were a bit longer, it would have easily gotten a five.

5-0 out of 5 stars A book you'll pick up again and again
There are many sides to the LEGO company and its products. This book helps present many of them in a vibrant colorful format that makes this a fun text to explore page by page. There's little in the way of formal narrative to this book so you can pick it up and flip to just about any section you wish. Much of the information is presented by way of large photos and descriptive captions or short paragraphs of text. The clarity of the photos is extraordinary, such that in some cases you can literally read the company's logo on the top of the individual studs. Readers used to seeing LEGO models on the internet will be pleased with how sharp and rich the pictures are in this book.
2-0 out of 5 stars Should be called "Ultimate Lego BROCHURE"
I'm giving this one 2 stars because my son, a big Lego fan, loves the pictures and is gazing endlessly at it.So it's worth it for that (although we checked ours out at the library). However, in reading it through now for him for the 2nd or 3rd time, I'm realizing that this is a shameless shill for the Lego Group's products, philosophy, and theme parks -- complete with a foreword by LEGO Group's President and CEO.I'm surprised, as the other DK children's books we have are on non-commercial subjects and are complete with their signature high-quality color photos and multitude of sidebars. But the sidebars in the Lego book contain things like this (on a page devoted to showing off the Lego clothing and accessory line):"combed cotton yarns prevent bobbling" and "clothing designed to allow freedom of movement and durability."Is this a Lands' End catalog, or a children's book?Who is the intended audience?

5-0 out of 5 stars Baby can't get enough
My 10 month old son loves these books so much.If he sees them he lights up and crawls over very quickly. He especially loves where is Baby's Mommy. He flips the flaps on the pages and giggles at times and he never gets sick of it.It can even bring him out of a bad mood, even if only when reading the books. He thinks he is a big boy because he flips pages and flaps and he thinks he makes things happen that way.Two big thumbs up.

3-0 out of 5 stars Gender and race
While I do like the story of these books, and my 1 year old daughter seems to enjoy the lifting the flaps task, the gender roles are pretty iron clad in these books (Mommy is dowdy and PTA-ish, Grandma bakes cookies and has low set wire rimmed glasses, Daddy is building a dog house). Also, very few nonwhite characters, excepting the belly button book. Also, my daughter was able to rip off the flaps of several pages.Just OK, I think.

4-0 out of 5 stars Baby's favorite books!
My 18 month old daughter loves these books! She loves naming the body parts and then showing us hers! She also loves looking for baby's mommy.I'll ask, "Is mommy in the closet?" and she will shout, "No, no, no!"It's so cute!I would give the books 5 stars, but sometimes they rip.As soon as we opened Toes, Ears, Nose she ripped one of the flaps. So, you need to supervise little ones with these books, but they are a big hit! ... Editorial Review

Maniac Magee is a folk story about a boy, a very excitable boy. One that can outrun dogs, hit a home run off the best pitcher in the neighborhood, tie a knot no one can undo. "Kid's gotta be a maniac," is what the folks in Two Mills say. It's also the story of how this boy, Jeffrey Lionel "Maniac" Magee, confronts racism in a small town, tries to find a home where there is none and attempts to soothe tensions between rival factions on the tough side of town. Presented as a folk tale, it's the stuff of storytelling. "The history of a kid," says Jerry Spinelli, "is one part fact, two parts legend, and three parts snowball." And for this kid, four parts of fun. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ManiacMageeBy Brett Iott & Abdoleraman
The story of Maniac Magee starts when his parents die in a trolly accident. Then he is forced to live with his aunt and uncle who hate each other. He leaves thim and runs until he sees this girl on the side walk with a suitcase. The town she lives in is a segregated town. His jumps around between people to live with until he ends back up were he started.

5-0 out of 5 stars A general who liked to have fun
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes, or has an interest in baseball. This is because it gives information on someone who might have had invented baseball. There were many surprises in the story, but I will only tell one of them.I was surprised that Abner did not know anything about baseball, if I were to write the book I would have put that Abner did invent baseball.I feel that this book is definitely a page-turner kind of book because every chapter, every page, every paragraph was so interesting you would not want to put it down. All in all, I think this one of the greatest books I have ever read.

I would give this book 4 stars beacuse I dont think that this baseball card adventure book had as much action in it as the other ones. Also I dont think it was all tht much about baseball I mean they hardly even played it in this book. But I still think this is a great book for anybody that likes baseball

If you don't know the name Ezra Jack Keats, then you just might miss out on one of the ultimate treasures of the literary world. This simple story of young Peter is a delight to read any time of the year as the protaganist wakes up to a snow-filled scene that he explores and enjoys. He even tries to capture a bit to bring home! Read this with your young ones as they anticipate the coming season or read it by the fire as you dry your feet after a winter day.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, reviewed by Joshua, Mrs. Bhola's second grade
If you like snow you would like the book The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. It is about the adventures of Peter going out in the snow. I like when Peter put the snow on his head. I liked it because I like books on snow. Check it at your local library.

5-0 out of 5 stars After all these years it's still relevant - rare urban African American protagonist
Atfer all these years, the pictures, text, and message still endure. The art has not become dated, nor has the language.Proof that "less is more" means a classic story.
