5-0 out of 5 stars Heirloom Quality Collectible Book - It's that good!
After reading the review of this book, I was hopeful but not too excited. A few days later, after ordering a new copy of the book from Amazon, I was elated. This is the WINNIE THE POOH book I have been waiting for, for years. Someone finally took the time and loving care to do it right. Everything about this book, from the color, cut out bookcover (and COLOR hardcover cover underneath it!) to the light yellow butter colored pages with full color EH Shephard illustrations lavishly presented throughout, this book is obviously a work of love. The map of 100 Acre Wood on both front and back inside cover is in color!!This beautiful edition was produced to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of this story and it is a winner. The story itself, of course, is priceless and enduring, but the presentation, this time around wins kudos. I immediately placed it on my bookshelf. This one is a keeper. Don't miss out - and don't buy cheaper editions - trust me, this is the one you want. Worth every penny and more. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book but it's for young I spy beginners
This is a really cute book and would be perfect for a I spy beginner and a younger reader. My child is 3 1/2 years old and she loves I spy books and this is not for her. I gave it five stars because if I had purchased this last year when we were at a different level it would be fine. I will keep it and bring it out when my son is a bit older.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good!
I bought this for my two year old and he loves it.He knows where all the pictures are ( he did before we left the store) an he still sits there with it in front of him for long peroids of time.I am trying to get the whole set.I don't know how many are in the set though and I was hoping that there would be some place where you could buy them in a complete set.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect size for families on the go!
A smaller version of the full sized I Spy books, these books are just great. They include cropped pictures from the regular I Spy books and are printed on durable cardboard - just right for little hands!Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for bedtime
This is a wonderful book that my nine-month-old has enjoyed since we received it as a gift when he was 2 months old.I don't understand the other reviews that say "it isn't much of a story"."Sweet Dreams", as the title implies, is a bedtime book. And it is perfect for that.Short, simple, engaging but not exciting, it is oh-so-soft and very comforting. My son loves it.He touches each animal ("kitty", "bunny", & "puppy") as we read, and I even stroke his face with the book once at the end as a final soother. It is the second of the two books we read at bedtime, the first being Baby Animals, which is a more active "Tough & Feel" book, but a good transition from active to night-night.I highly recommend Sweet Dreams for anyone looking for a comforting quiet book for bedtime reading with their baby.At nine-months, he seems far from outgrowing it; we will enjoy this book for some time to come.
5-0 out of 5 stars A perfect gift for your newest adopted family member
I think this is a perfect gift for any baby shower or new addition to your family. Especially for those who are adopting a child International like we did. We wheren't sure how much stimulation our daughter received in her Social Welfare Institute in China and so we brought this colorful book along. The book is a soft flannel and each tag is has a different color and texture and what child doesn't like tags of any sort. If you find this book in the book store or sometimes in a gift shop you can choose the colored tags and textures, for each one is different.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great for babies (under 1)
I received a taggie blanket at my baby shower and my daughter loves it, so when I saw this book I bought it.She loves it, it as well.I find this works well in the stroller or backback and she likes to chew on all the tabs (tho' mostly the information tag, as it is the biggest). It cleans easily in the wash.It isn't really much of a "story" -- this is mostly a book-shaped toy.But she gives it lots of attention and it is a wonderful distraction for in the car or playpen. My son, who is two years old, thinks the loops are funny and likes to stick his fingers in them, but this is really an item for a baby.I don't imagine a toddler interested in real books would get much out of it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars growing strong
how you can feel with a little boy's hardship in a boarding school and how you hope for his stamina and how you love his intense friendships that bring him on his way.
5-0 out of 5 stars A powerful story of courage and change
If Bryce Courtenay's The Power Of One sounds familiar, it's because this represents a young reader's condensed edition of a prior hard-hitter which became both an adult classic and an acclaimed movie of the same name. It's great to see such a powerful novel condensed with youth in mind: grades 8-12 will find compelling the story of 1930s South Africa and a boy who faces apartheid and prejudice in a country where his childhood is marked by loneliness and dreams of changing lives. A powerful story of courage and change evolves.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great Novel - but CONDENSED
I have read the Power of One, the unedited version and it is brilliant, inspiring, and brutal - one of the best books I've read. However, this edition that is being sold here, is the Young Reader's edition, which isn't immediately obvious from Amazon's description or the picture. It does say so on the cover, but it's very small unless you enlarge the picture. So, my review gives it a 2 as it may be an unpleasant surprise for those who want to read the actual novel. ... I have a daughter that literally HATES math. From the moment I told her of this book, she's been intrigued. She's read the book and says it makes math more interesting.I'm very happy with my purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!!
This is an awesome book. I especially like the part that sets out to prove that grownups aren't as smart as they think they are. (Definitly true!) I think this book would be good for ages 9+. 8-year olds could do it but might need some help. I'm 10 and I was fine with it. Definitly worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Math Book for Younger Kids Too
The reading level for this book should just be a guideline. If parents are reading it, the examples & games can be done by kids much younger. My son's first grade teacher recommended using this book over the summer to prepare him for 2nd grade math enrichment.Read more

There are 19 paintings from the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that list things to look for in the painting. This is a neat way to incorporate art with your child while playing. 5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
This book is great.I not only have my own children but I own a child franchise and I read this book to our 10-13 mo. olds and 12-15 mo. They just stare and smile and try to grab every page.
3-0 out of 5 stars Your toddler will love it, but the flaps will tear!
Your little one will have plenty of fun pulling down the flaps in this colorful book. However, the large flaps in Peek-a-Moo! are thick paper and therefore easily tear and crease. Also, if you have a toddler who does not want or understand to close the flap back up with each page (such as the case with our 14-month-old daughter), you need to make sure the flaps are back up before you turn the page.Otherwise, they will hang out the bottom of the book, vulnerable to further damage from the wrath of an active toddler. We have other lift-the-flap books that have smaller, thicker flaps that automatically close when you turn the page (such as Dear Zoo--highly recommended), which are in much better condition.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent For Beginners
Within an hour of getting this book, I was able to juggle ( though not skillfully at all)three balls. Granted, I've had a little bit of prior juggling experience from years and years ago, so I wasn't totally unfamiliar with the motions. The instructions were very clear and so were the illustrations after I used a hi-liter to keep track of the otherwise black and white balls.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great book!
One night, I had a very strange dream. For a beauty pageant, I was juggling for a talent. Ever since that dream (About one week ago!) I knew juggling would be my talent.
5-0 out of 5 stars I got as far as page 10
Until I purchased this book and bean bags, I might've made two attempts in my life to juggle...for a total of maybe sixty seconds. Anyway, I purchased this book. I followed the book up till page 10. The exercise was to juggle just two balls. That's it. So for a minute or two almost every day, I practiced juggling 2 balls, which was surprisingly difficult. It's all about the toss, about timing, and about being patient and not panicking. Eventually, I got pretty decent and consistent. Today, around 10 days after receiving the book and balls, I decided to try the third ball. Didn't even bother to look at the book. And within a few tries, I was tossing all three balls around! No kidding. It was harder learning to toss the two balls than it was to incorporate the third ball.

4-0 out of 5 stars They're Not Flash Cards - And Maybe They're Not Even Disney!
I give - some of the Einstein series appeals. Little Einsteins is inspired, engaging, and something that might not have caused Einstein himself to cringe. These lively oversized and laminated cards are terrific. I couldn't bring myself - mentally or physically - to "flash" cards before my toddlers. But, as we're told, things change around 3 to 5 as kids get engaged in the world around them and ask questions that make some folks (and certainly me) log on to Wikipedia.

Editorial Review

Count to 10, explore the alphabet, discover shapes, learn about opposites, and find the missing teddy bear in this big, colorful board book. Sesame Street's beloved Elmo guides young readers to lift more than 60 flaps to reveal humorous and edifying surprises. Over the word "dry," Grover gazes unsuspectingly into a garden hose. Turn the flap and guess what happens! Grover learns all about "wet." A towering pyramid of alphabet blocks contains objects starting with the same letter behind each flap: alligator, book, cookies. Large, sturdy flaps allow rough-tough toddler hands to clutch and pull as much as they want with minimal risk of tearing. Children will adore the bright, bold illustrations of Jim Henson's familiar Muppet characters and beg to return to this book again and again. (Baby to preschool) Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for learning the basics!! Luv that Elmo!
I gave this to my little niece on her 2nd birthday, she opened the present and said "Elmo".She flipped the book open and didn't want to put it down (even with all the other presents to open around her).
5-0 out of 5 stars Great for curious toddlers
My 21 month old twins LOVE the Elmo lift-and-look books. They never seem to tire of them.Every morning, they wake up and ask for this book. The book is great because it teaches them everything from ABCs and 123s to opposites. They are definitely learning a ton from this book.I also love the interactive nature of the lift and looks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for babies and toddlers
This has been a favorite of my son's since he was six months old. It's been great for bolstering his vocabulary; even before he could talk he could point out the objects and shapes, and remember what was under each flap. Now at two years old he still loves it.Your child will love this book and learn from it! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars cute little dolls.... They're great!
For little girls who love american girl but don't want to buy the real doll? This would be perfect for you! I have one, and it is really an exact replica of one of the larger dolls. You can take off their clothes, and their hair is brushable, and they come with a cute little book!

3-0 out of 5 stars So small!
My daughter enjoys the American girl series, but who can afford the dolls? I thought this was a great value, at 40% off, it was only $11.97! "Wow!!" I thought. I purchased it and the Samantha doll. I knew it wasn't full size, but 6 1/2 inches seemed large enough for some fun. It is such a small doll! It is only about the size of Barbie's little sister. My daughter has some baby dolls that are ony 6 1/2 inches tall, they seem so much bigger than this, because they are also big around. It is a very cute doll, just not what I expected. As long as all you are looking for is a doll that is the size of Barbie's little sister, I don't think you will be disappointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars mini doll with bonus
In case you're curious, this set includes the Mini Nellie O'Malley doll (six inches tall), a miniature replica of the 18 inch Nellie doll available from American Girl. Also included is a mini, abridged version of the book "Nellie's Promise" as well as a small book that talks about the making of the Samantha movie. The mini dolls used to be nicer than they are now--they kind of look like a Barbie in historical clothing--but they are still worthwhile. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Love this book!!
I don't usually write reviews, but my 18 mo old loves this book so much I had to write so other parents can share it with their children. It has a great message about unconditional love and at the same times teaches about emotions, behavior, and even body parts. My daughter loves pointing to her "top side" and "bottom side"...it is almost time to buy a replacement, b/c this one has been read so many times.

5-0 out of 5 stars First kiss
My 13 month old son started 'reading' this book by himself at 8 months or so after I'd read it to him for 2 months. He started giving the little boy kisses around 11 months, even though we'd never said anything about doing something like that. He's been doing it now for 3 months plus and the book has held up very well. The illustrations are simple, yet very effective and the expressions are clear. The story is so delightful I don't mind reading it 10 times or more a day-he'll often bring me the book and ask to get into my lap. It's the only book he does that with.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is GREAT!
We checked this out from our public library and now I'm getting ready to purchase it.My son is almost 4 years old and he loves this book.I wish we had found it when he was younger. It IS a great interactive book. When I read it, he makes the expressions (happy/sad) or he does the action (running/walking) or he'll wiggle his fingers/toes, etc.It is so much fun and a great way to have special time with your child letting them know that you love him (or her) "through and through...yesterday, today and tomorrow, too!" ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Freaky-looking clowns, yikes
I just had to say that when I read the other review that said the clowns in here were too scary looking, I chuckled-- until I took a look at the book myself and saw them!Today I was in B&N and saw this book, and I must say those freaky clowns on each page ruin this book.I love these I Spy books, but although I don't get scared by clowns, I do wish they chose a set of cute little clowns instead.Try the Spooky House I Spy book-- so cute and fun!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for me!
For those people acquainted with I Spy books, you know that there is one item that appears on each picture page.Unfortunately, in the Fun House book, the recurring item is a pair of clown-dolls.Call me crazy, but those clowns are downright freaky and they frightened me!They are peering out at you from all sorts of the places and they gave me the creeps.I had intended to give this book as a gift to my 8-year-old son, but couldn't follow through.I just couldn't handle those clowns and didn't know how my kids would react.Again, maybe it's just me, but I can't recommend this book.Sorry if you think I'm a wimp, but if there are others like me, I wouldn't buy this book for your kids.
5-0 out of 5 stars I Spy Books are fun

5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!
My daughter really got into stickers just before turning three. For her 3rd birthday, one person got her 2 of these books and OMIGOD it was her favorite gift - she would not even pay attention to other much more expensive and sofisticated gifts she got. I went and got her the other ones out there. At first, she was dissapointed when she finished placing all the stickers (which she did in 2 days or so), but now, 4 months later, she picks these books up just to look at the pictures. They are bright and colorful and very educational. Even I have learned a few things...I hope more of these books come out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for toddlers
