4-0 out of 5 stars wish it were larger!
My 3 year old loves the I Spy computer games so I got him this I spy book for letters (which he still needs help recognizing). It is a very cute book - several images for each letter and cleverly done.I just wish it were bigger so we can spend more time with it.Overall, a good buy in a small boardbook.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great ABC book!!
My sister in law, a Kindergarten teacher, highly recommended this book. She read it to her son all the time and she couldn't believe when he started to learn his letters. The rhyming is enjoyable to little ears and fun for parents to read, the colors are simple and bold and there is a lot of growth to this book. You can start my just reading, then naming objects as they get older.I always sing the alphabet song at the end where the entire alphabet is listed. Each letter is filled in with what it starts with. For example: dots in D, water in W, kites in K.I bought the numbers which is good too - but if you get one, the alphabet is the best!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots to look at!
I spy with my little eye, a wonderful book for toddlers!

3-0 out of 5 stars I love LH books but...
I love LH books and read them before there was a TV show- I remember how at age 10 I enjoyed reading about Laura and Mary in the Big woods and how facinating it was to read about playing in the attic among all the food and goods the family had in storage. Laura Ingalls Wilder was so decriptive about the foods and acitivities of her childhood that it made you hungry for what they were about to eat and you felt a part of what was going on.
5-0 out of 5 stars Not just a cookbook
The Little House cookbook is more than a collection of recipes. It's full of historical food tidbits. Each recipe if prefaced with an exerpt from the Little House book where that food is mentioned. This feature lets you know you are recreating a dish that Laura described in her book.Since Ma did not write down her recipes, Barbara Walker had to do research to find similar recipes to those described in the Little House series. But because of the explainations regarding the new recipes, there is no suspicion of unauthentic foods. Plus, they taste great. The white bread is a family favorite. This is 100% recommended for Little House fans and those wanting to explore frontier foods.

5-0 out of 5 stars 6 Stars and more really - wonderful cookbook and book
This is wonderful! It is for fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and also for those who are interested in historic cooking - from prairie and colonial days which have their basis in so many of the cultures which settled America in the early days, and adapted for use there

2-0 out of 5 stars Too Wordy
I found this book a bit dissapointing to use as a supplement for high school biology students. The coloring pages are too wordy and not user friendly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Educational Coloring Book
This Biology coloring book has been fantastic for my son.It is not a 'for pleasure' coloring book, although it would be for me.It is not a child's book.It is a teaching resource.Highschool to college ages will get great benenfit from this.I recommend buying a 48+ Prism color pencil set, and start enjoying yourself while learning Biology.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good supplementary, review, or reference text for basic biology
I use this book as an optional/supplementary text in college, non-major biology classes. Some of the information and ideas are outdated, but the book has value on at least 3 different levels:

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book, but needs level 2
This is a great book for learning how to correctly write the uppercase letters. The book is tracing of letters which gave my son, just turned 5, a lot of confidence in his writing. The only problem is that there really needs to be a part 2 for this book to help the children move from tracing these letters to writing them. The next 4 books in the recommended sequence all deal with lowercase letters, so the child is not given the opportunity to practice the uppercase letters. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great to Share with your Kid and Her Friends
Written by twelve year old Sarah Bernstein, this fun book has all your favorite childhood "Hand Clap" games in it, from "Miss Mary Mack" to "Say, Say Oh Playmate".Bernstein researched and collected Hand Clap games from all over the country to gather over 40 "Hand Clap" games, including many I've never heard of, but all that I remember.Interestingly, the "Miss Lucy had a Steamboat" Hand Clap listed in the book, is not the scatological version I'd learned as a child, but rather a "clean" version you'd be happier to share with your children.
1-0 out of 5 stars Lots of rhymes, but no melodies
This book has a lot of great rhymes and claps to clapping games, and it was written by a hippie looking adolescent. There is a pretty good explanation of the claps at the beginning of the book, which is good because many of the pictures would be impossible to figure out without it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Hard To Follow
I found this book hard to follow. The author put a lot of effort into trying to make this an easy book. There are 79 hand pictures of the basic hand claps with the movements described in words, but I just can't get it.Music notes are included for each rhyme.I wish the author would have included rhythym as well.I have yet to use it with my students. ... Editorial Review

It's almost Christmas and it hasn't snowed yet. As the farmer naps onhis small farm, he dreams of being covered in a gentle blanket of new snow. Then, one by one, he dreams of each of his five animals (aptly named One, Two,Three, Four, and Five) being covered as well. When he awakens, he discovers thatreal snow--not dream snow--has fallen. And "Oh my! Oh my! I almost forgot," thefarmer shouts, and, bundling up, hurries out to his tree (named Tree) with a boxand a sack, looking remarkably familiar in his white beard and red suit. Afterdecorating Tree, the farmer shouts "Merry Christmas to all!" and pushes a buttonfor a surprise Yuletide jingle.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for reading readiness...
This book lets you teach 49 vowel-spellings with 282 vocabulary words.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tested and true
My preschool students loved everything about this book. There was the mystery of the old farmer who looked like Santa Claus. Was he just a farmer or was he Santa? The animals with their number names caused a great deal of discussion among the children. Why didn't they have real names? The plastic overlays of falling snow and the song and light show at the end were over the top and caused a sensation.Dream Snow is a showcase of Eric Carle's genius. The story is very simple but readily engages children's minds and the visual presentation is tantalizing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Attention getter
As a mother and a preschool teacher, I can say that I really enjoyed this book. The simplicity of it keeps the attention of the children. They love to repeat the lines with me as I am reading. They also like taking turns pressing the button to hear the music. This is truly another master piece by Carle. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent cutting book for beginners
My son is three years old and is always asking me to use my scissors to cut things which I did not allow. This book was a lifesaver for me.My son and I practice cutting one page a day and he is always so excited to do the workbook. Each page in the book gets progressively harder so the children are challenged throughout the book. There are fun pictures that my son loves to cut.I highly recommend this book for someone who needs guidance and a place to start teaching their preschooler how to cut.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book!
As a teacher, I can't say enough good things about this book. It teaches cutting skills in a nice sequential manner and the cute designs and bright colors are highly motivating for my 3 year old daughter.I can't wait to buy more Kumon prodcuts.

5-0 out of 5 stars Have scissors, will cut
Most children are fascinated with scissors and love to use them, yet they really have very little in their lives they can meaninfully cut. So what happens? Mom's magazine gets snipped to ribbons, baby sister or the dog get an amateur barber job, maybe they become a fashion designer: "I think my pants would be better as shorts!" Thankfully Kumon has come to the rescue and has come up with a book for children that they CAN cut, have fun with, and mom won't be upset!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Story of the World Activity Book Two: The Middle Ages
I purchased the Activity Two Book because my son enjoyed the Activity One Book. This book is appropriate for Grades 1 through 4 and should be purchased "together" with The Story of the World Volume 2: The Middle Ages book. The activity bookcan be used in families with different-aged children. Each chapter includes a narration exercise, question and answer for oral and written review, cut-outs, coloring, maps, craft projects as well as a thorough list of suggested readings. There is something for everyone here to make learning history an enjoyable experience.

I will be using this for our history in our home education. So far, while reviewing and finding what is needed for activities, I am anxious to get started! 5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!!!
This is such an adorable board book! It's so sweet and girly. Little girls just love their Grandmas and this is such a great way for them to connect with them even more. Lots of reviews said this book is not very durable. Read the age reccomendation- it says 3! I wouldn't give this to a young toddler unless you look at it together and very gently. Otherwise, it's very suitable for a child 3 and up. I can't wait to give this as a gift to my friend's daughter and everyone else I know who'll appreciate it :)

Sturdy board pages. 5 animals, each with the texture of its "kiss". A toddler-delighting squeak sound when you press the pages. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed. 5-0 out of 5 stars A great read-aloud book!
This is an excellent book for reading aloud, especially to a group of toddlers! It's light and easy to hold. The text is large and clear. There is a nice rhythm to the simple and concise sentences. The colorful collage illustrations are almost all double-page vertical, easy to see from a distance, and consist of objects children will be anxious to point out and identify. At the end of this simple story about building a snowman there is a section that pictures and identifies the items used in the collages: buttons, fabrics, fruits, buttons, etc. It's perfect for a game of: "where can you find this [bell] in the story?" "How many of these [seeds] can you find?", and perfect as a springboard for a snowman craft using items from your own sack of 'good stuff'.There is also an explanation of snow with photographs of real snowmen, and directions for making popcorn balls. This book is fun to read and look at, well worth reading over and over.

4-0 out of 5 stars Snowball o' fun
You walk into your first encounter with "Snowballs" with the vague sense that this is going to be yet another winter picture book containing figures made out of cut paper.
